Aw abortion is a complicated matter; I don't think I would get an abortion but I kind of see how you could in certain circumstances. All the focus is on the unborn child which is lovely I suppose but do you neglect the already born in favor of the unborn. Is the mother somehow less important. As a medical professional I would say the answer is no. A few months in the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge collapse a woman who was eight months pregnant was rushed to the hospital. The first prior of the hospital staff was the life of the mother the unborn baby was second priority. So are medical professionals wrong to worry about the mother first?

Look abortion is something that is sometimes necessary to preserve the life of the mother. Killing the mother in hopes that baby will live is ironic and rather silly I think. A fetus needs its mother's womb. Now lets consider the idea that it is going to kill the mother to have deliver the baby. She should have the choice whose life she wants to save hers or fetus's that is too assume she would die in delivery. And what the risk is that both may die.

The idea of rape and becoming pregnant by rape is a freaky idea very few must undergo. But it happens to some very unlucky people. You know being sexually assaulted or raped is horrible experience that causes PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder) in many people. Now you complicate that with being pregnant with a baby from that rape. That would be one constant reminder; the psychological state that can leave the mother is one most people can not even imagine. It could lead mental breakdown or even suicide. You know how many people die from mental break-downs let alone suicides.
So now what is more important the fetus or the mother's life.
Well now if the mother dies from a mental breakdown or suicide then the fetus will die too. Why not under such extreme circumstances at least save the life of the mother?

Abortion is one of those things that is easy to see as black and white but it is not really that simple. Before you can say if abortion is right or wrong you have consider the reasoning for which it is done; if it is going to potentially preserve the life of the mother there is no reason to call it wrong; it is not wrong to take the fetus to save the mother; because remember if the mother dies the fetus will almost certainly die as well. It is better to save one life than risk both. And if mother is going to die she ought to have the choice to save her own life. When thinking about abortion we should not be focused on the fetus we all but forget the mother.

On yeah the idea that life starts at conception is not completely accurate. Life begin when fertilised egg attaches to the uterus wall not before that. Conception happens in the fallopian tube. If you want to say this is the beginning of life then you are allowing for natural abortion. Man can play god because we can a sperm cell and put with eggs cell and boom we created life. Not that simple.

You see the put fertilised eggs in the uterus all the time and they don't take. Pregnancy never occurs.

Also there is the idea of pregnancy in here fallopian tube and the medical professional world will tell you it not a real fetus. So then life does not begin with conception it begin with attachment; when egg attaches to uterus wall.

personally i think that its personal choice! At the end of the day no contraceptive is 100% safe, so there is always the risk of getting pregnant i know its an extreamly low risk but its there all the same! So when a woman who is using contraceptive to avoid pregnancy actually falls pregnant (even tho she was extra careful) then she shouldnt be made to feel guilty for not wanting to keep it. But i also dont agree with abortions being a form of contraceptive, if a wonman was to fall pregnant through lack of responibilty then she should perhaps face up to her responsibilities or at least be more careful in the future. I also dont agree with terminations so late as 24 weeks unless its a health risk to the mother or baby.

You want opinions right? Here is mine. I am very, very against abortion. I have three children of my own...had my first at 18 years of age...No matter what the situation was or is...i would never in a million years even think about having an abortion...and sometimes I wonder how anybody could...the little thing growing inside of you at 3 weeks over 15 weeks is a human being...they didnt ask to be conceived...the way i look at it is if you lay down with a guy and you do get pregnant...you need to take responsibilty for your actions...the bottom line is if you have an abortion you are killing a human being!!! Also another reason why i am against abortion is because you can have a baby take it to an emergency room at any hospital and hand that baby to someone (nurse, dr. etc) and turn around and walk out no questions asked...there are thousands of people that are unable to have children...and you have people killing them everyday

To have a termination is one of the hardest decisions a woman can make, i'm not saying its right or wrong its what is best for the individual that matters.
I also think that you shouldn't be allowed to have an abortion after 12 weeks, because : 1. i think that is long enough to come to decision & 2. upto 12weeks & the embryo is still in developing stages. At 12 weeks its become a baby, with its own set of fingerprints & dna, so to then go ahead is kinda like murder, ok it may not breathe on its own just yet but it is still alive.
And people may not agree with me on this but for those who have made that decision, will know that the guilt never leaves you.

The reasons surrounding abortion are personal to each individual and sometimes the circumstances are less than straightforward than unprotected sex. In cases of unprotected sex, in this modern world, this scenario shouldn't happen but in other circumstances where the conception was via violence then the situation is very very different and should be left to the individual to decide with compassion and not judgement...

I'll be totally honest, i've read all the answers to your question and understand the opions of others but myself a mother of two lovely boys am taking proper precautions from another pregnancy, but if god forbid i was in the unlucky .1% or whatever the stats are for mistakes to happen, i'd be on the first plane to liverpool to have an abortion as i just wouldnt cope with any more kids. I love and would never give up my 2 boys but another 1 would just not be fair on anyone around me finacially, mentally and physically!!! sorry.

NOOOOOO....for all of those that are thinking it as a choice...
The pain of going though it is awful and and the emotional consequences are worst...you think about your baby every single day....every baby you see, every baby commercial at the TV, every pregnant person....and it's not over, you become another person, probably your relationship gets screwed and you push away your family and friends or anyone that tries to help you feel better...'cause you know deep inside you can't, and you won't...
Its the beggining of the awfulest dream that will turn your life in a living hell and the pain won't go at anytime...please...say no to abortion, don't be another dumb female that thinks that getting an abortion is getting rid of some problems!!!

In my opinion, I think that it's wrong. No one should have the choice of whether to end a life or not. I especially hate it when some girls use abortion as a form of birth control. They sleep around, get pregnant, and then simply " take care of it ". A baby inside of you is another human being and there is no reason that another human should have the choice on whether to end that life or not, especially when you can always give the baby up for adoption.

I believe that it is every womans choice although not one to be taken lightly. I personally wouldn't be able to go through with an abortion although I have considered it and am glad that I didn't.
