I recall from College the temperuture was some thirty degrees warming back then. Wouldn't that be the same as global warming and if so wouldn't the dinosaurs drown before reaching their huge sizes?

I hate the man-made global warming scare.

The fact is that ocean levels will rise about one or two feet this century. They also rose that much last century.

I say, more global warming. Free up Canadian land for farming, and feed more people. Create more desalination plants and bring people more water. Everyone wins. Global warming is good!

Why would they drown?

There would still be land surface even with a 30 degree rise in temp, it would just be a smaller area than there is now.

The icecaps aren't nearly big enough that their melting would cover the entire Earth surface in water.

No.

There is not enough water on Earth to flood all land. Warming can cause land ice to melt which will flood coastal areas, but there is not enough land ice to cover the whole planet with water.

We're not going to drown because of global warming, but it will eventually displace millions of people if we don't do something about it.

Why would they drown?

Are you saying that the melted icecaps would cover the planet in water? If so, you might want to check on how much water is in the icecaps. There is not enough to cover the planet.

You forget due to the higher temps, there was less ice and snow and much more land...due to whatever you choose to believe about why earth had an Ice age, THEN the dinosaurs died out....and the land was covered.

You should also remember that land masses were very different at the time of the dinosaurs.

Good point. And if the temperatures were that high...HOW? We did not have factories and cars burning up fossil fuels.
