this is a pivotal scene in which romeo`s fate is sealed . . . agree or disagree?. . . . .using evidence from the text , and explaining the powerful word imargery write an essay in shich you debate the role of fate in determining the outcome romeo and juliets relationship use all the evidence you have gathered to write this essay, must use text quotations about the language as well as the meaning this is a question not eventsof the play you must discuss audience participation and effect of languages.

I'll get you started. At the end of the scene, Romeo discovers that Mercutio has been fatally stabbed. He (Mercutio) gets up and as he's dying says, "A plague on both your houses!". What do you think that means? "Your houses" refers to the families of Capulets and Montagues--he's putting a curse on both families. So, if you believe in fate, that might mean that Romeo's fate is sealed.

Also, Tybalt is Juliet's cousin and Romeo has killed him after he killed Mercutio...do you think the Capulets will just let that go, no matter that Tybalt had killed someone (probably by accident)?
