I had my hormone balance checked and the Dr. said they were within normal range. Is it possible normal range is not normal for me? When I was younger I had problems with this and the Dr. prescribed BCP. I certainly don't need them now, but I have several symptoms of a hormone imbalance - what can I do without a prescription? (Dr. won't prescribe when I am within "normal range".) What else would cause abdominal fat, tired all the time, etc. and what can I do?

Sometimes a hormone imbalance can still occur in spite of bloodwork that is normal.

I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from an endocrinologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders that relate to hormones) if you haven't already.

If your primary care physician can't help I would recommend consulting another doctor in the same field but different office location for a 3rd opinion to see what they say.
