Apparently, in the now famous Erin Brockovich story, PG&E told the people of Hinkley, CA that the water they were taking was harmless because the hexavalent chromium turned into chromium 3 in the stomach. I have read about this and it seems that people have all sorts of opinions. So, is this possible, and, if it isn't, why not?

Chrom 6, which is Cr+6, is nasty stuff. It acts as a strong oxidizing agent and can cause cancers and what not (as in the movie). When it comes into contact with any kind of oxidizable organic compound (anything with an hydroxyl group, for example, sugars, proteins, DNA, etc) it will turn that hydroxyl group into a carbonyl. This transformation causes the Cr+6 to become Cr+3, thereby using it up.

If Cr+6 does indeed turn into Cr+3 in the stomach, the only way for this to happen is if the Cr+6 reacts with the stomach walls or other types of organics within the stomach. To say that the "acid in the stomach neutralizes the effect" is dead wrong. Acid helps this reaction take place.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.

You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.

It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out this video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.
