I paid 5200 for the bike. 16K mi.
it was dropped at a light, but the frame slider picked up most of the damage, the frame slider was replaced and the damage painted over, you can barely tell. No other problems I can see, everything works and a $300 set of hid's came with it.

did I get a good deal, or pay too much?

The 2003 Suzuki GSXR1000K3 with 16k miles is valued at @ $ 6565 per N.A.D.A. Sept-Dec. Issue. Even considering the small damage done to the bike and the job of the frame sliders that was a very good price. With my over 20 years in retail motorcycle sales, you did fine on the purchase. Have fun and ride safe.

Nope, that sounds about where it should be considering it has some minor flaws.

Check the values of current GSX-R's on www.cycletrader.com and you'll see what others are asking for a 2003 Gixxer.

As long as your plastics arent noticeably damaged and your happy with the cover up job then it was a good deal. I would do ti in a heart beat.

ride it till the wheels fall off, ride it like you stole it, never get your money back out of a jap bike but they are fun.
