'Yes, I'm being sarcastic but I'm sure somebody out there thinks it's their fault.'
Well 'somebody' doesn't have a clue as to why gas prices are going up. They think Bush and Cheney twich their noses or blink their eyes and oil prices go up or down. But then 'they' probably think gasoline comes from wells underneath gas stations.*LOL*
Like a lot of other things you can blame it on enviornmentalists. They don't want nuclear or hydroelectric power beause something bad 'might' happen. They holler about CO2 emissions while driving their SUVs.
I'm sorry I'm going to live in a cave and walk to 20 miles to work just to satisfy them.

You do realize that sarcasm and wit are wasted on the ignorant, right? While anyone with half a braincell realizes it is not the fault of either of them, I can understand why some would be upset with them over the increase. Instead of looking out solely for the corporations, it is time someone in our government attempted to look out for the needs and desires of the consumers. After all, without us, what good is corporate greed, profits, and dividends?

I am amazed at how many of you actually think that these two so-called ex-oil men have nothing to do with the fact that oil prices have risen so high!
I ask you all this question.......What have Bush and Cheny done to keep oil prices reasonable????......Nothing!!!!
When was the last time you heard either of them even talk about the price of gasoline Americans have to pay???....they don't!
And I am sorry....but the oil industry is making record profits! This is not made up...its real! THE OIL INDUSTRY AND THOSE IN CHARGE ARE GETTING VERY VERY RICH! And Bush and Cheney are right in the thick of it!
You ask this question in jest, but yet you don't really consider the reality here.
Think about this...... Who would be better suited to keep oil prices resonable than two men with connections and experience in the oil business??? And what have they done???
One more question.....Who would be better suited to make sure that the oil business makes more money than the've ever had than two former oil men in both the office of the president and vice president??? And what have they done?
They have made their choices, thats what they have done!
And its not the choice of whats best for the American people!

I'm glad you're being sarcastic, since the President has nothing to do with oil prices, or gas hikes. The fault goes to oil companies who are greedy, wanting more profit, since OPEC, and other resourses we buy oil from, hike up their prices for a barrel of oil. Their intent is to gouge the gas buyers.

The price of gas should make the dems happy.
They've been proposing higher gas taxes for years, saying higher prices would force us to conserve.
They didn't get the higher taxes,so they invented Global Warming and blamed fossil fuels.
That didn't work either
Now,the price is up,so they should be happy.

Actually it is their fault . Screwing around in the Middle East has caused us to waste billions of dollars that if invested here would have reduced the demand for oil and at the same time promoted energy independence .
We all have to get on the same page at some time and accept that we have no control over what other nations and leaders do to their people . Its not really up to us and you would be wrong to suggest that we need to help anyone .
Its the choice of the people to live under the control of dictators .
Tell me that if the people want they could not take over the government of this nation tomorrow . All it requires is that the people work together . How long till the police run out of bullets . the population is 1000 people to every cop . The military is going to use machine guns and bombs on the people .
You put 4 million New Yorkers in the street demanding an end to the current leaders and it will happen .
Nothing you can do to stop it .

Many people do think this. Isn't it amazing that that is the extent of the understanding of economics of many people.
Also isn't it funny how all these people who feel confident in the war for oil argument also say the high gas prices is Bush's fault. They can't even put two thoughts together.

If I were OPEC I would have started raising the price of oil when Global Warming became the primary issue. The fear of the world changing from oil would have scared me to death.
