The only thing that worked with my daughter was to take a shower with her. I would get in the shower and have my husband hand her off to me. She would sleep for a few hours afterwards, and wake up refreshed. My baby was colic for 3 months after she was hospitalized with RSV. I know how irritating and frustrating it can be.... but it does get better. One day it will just stop all together and a happy baby will emerge :)

Burping...Or you can try something a bit more relaxing. Baby yoga. You can do this anytime and it helps improve flexibility and with digestive problems.
Lay baby on back and (1)press knees gently into stomache, (2) circle alternating legs as if baby is pedaling a bike, (3) with knees together, draw both legs from side to side.
These should help relieve any gas the baby has....and baby may even have lots of fun.

My daughter was diagnosed at 5 weeks with colic and we switched to soy milk since we are formula feeding. She did end up at 10 weeks being diagnosed with acid reflux. My sister bought my daughter a vibrator chair and that is what she would sleep in. This works wonderful she also loves her swing. I also use Gripe Water.

colic hold: http://www.xperimentation.com/atm/archives/10.nov29.tiger.colic.jpg

That and "wear" your baby in a snugli or other carrier that you strap on. Baby is used to being carried around in a snug, warm, noisy environment 24 hours a day until birth, and that crib or carseat can be lonely, cold, and too quiet and still. Sometimes they cry like they are in pain when all they want is to be held and moved around more often like when they were still in utero.

my son had colic...you can try different formula if you are not nursing....if you are try changing your diet...make sure he doesn't have acid reflux...some babies do!! my son though could not be soothed...I had to just let him cry. It was so hard but I didn't want to get frustrated so I would just lay him in his crib and leave him alone. Then when I came back he was happy to have me pick him up again

Different things work for different children. One we changed the formula, one I was breastfeeding and stopped eating dairy products, I spent a lot of time rocking and walking the floors, my husband could lay on his back and put the baby on his warm belly and pat them right to sleep.

Hold them with their back to your belly with your hands cradling uder their legs lifting them up to their belly! Like a sitting position!

Also hold them face down as they rest their belly on your arm and rock them!
