Kind of a pun, in that it is the dish made in the end, and it starts with the word "rat."

I have a friend from France here at work, and he explained that Ratatouille is a dish made in France that is made from different ingridients you may have. Kind of the equivalent of a Hobo soup or a casserole dish you make with different ingredfients you may find in your Fridge.

And since its starts with Rat- it fits in the story nicely.

I suppose it's just the coinsidence that "Ratatouille" has the word rat in it. And the fact 'Remy' wants to be a chef! That's all I can come up with!!!

Have you seen the movie?

If not, then it is the dish that they make at the finale, for the harsh restaurant critic.

That is the dish that Rémy makes that impresses the food critic.
