I will be going to vegas for my 25th birthday and new years eve. What are some good places to eat that I can make reservations for now or at least a week or two in advance. I will not be renting a car so maybe some places on the strip or close. Thanks!

This is the best site for Las Vegas info

Places to eat
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/eat.cfm
This site has ALL of the buffets in LV with their CURRENT prices, times, etc. This site is updated daily not once every couple of years.

Really cool places to eat
"Top of the World" - Stratosphere - Make reservations for just before sunset, the view from 900ft up is awesome. The restaurant rotates 360 degrees once per hour.

Mon Ami Gabi - Paris - Make reservations to set "outside" after dark. You're right across the Blvd from the Fountains of Bellagio.

Eiffel Tower Restaurant - Paris

IMO these are the best steakhouses
Delmonico - Venetian
1-702-414-3737

A little less upscale but a better value IMO than Delmonico.
The Range - Harrah's
1-702-369-5000
Prime Rib Loft - Orleans
1-702-365-7111 >It's not on the strip, but there is a free shuttle from Bill's Gamblin Hall.

This one is downtown, but it's my favorite.
The Pullman Grille - Main Street Station

The restaurant was actually built around the Fireplace from Preswick Castle. MSS has enough Antiques, Artifacts and Artwork that it should qualify as a museum. There is a brochure at the front desk to help you locate and identify everything. Including a section of the Berlin Wall,

Gonzalez Y Gonzales at New York New York if you like Mexican. The prices are the most reasonable we have found on the strip for the amount of food and quality plus there are the free chips and salsa before the meal.
Also, Le Provencal at Paris. Very good pasta also free bread and dipping sauce. If you go at the right time they have singing waiters which is fun.
The MGM has the best buffet. ( the seafood buffet at the Rio is good but during new years expect to wait 2 or more hours..or more. I did over labor day and trust me it will be like a crazy feeding frenzy as if people think buffet food runs out.)
Just a warning eating is expensive in Vegas and a holiday can get near gouging on prices. What I do is eat a large meal in the middle of the day and get snacks either in the morning or late at night.
Have fun!

OH a great place, and you MUST have reservations,

I cant tell you how good the food is there, and how well they treat the guests.
The food is soo good that it just melts in your mouth,
And all for a reasonable price.
You feel like your just about fine dinning. I loved it and always will.
Its on the vegas strip, in the Fashion Show Mall. You must go... 702-732-2550 John Kosele Manager

There are amazing places to eat right on the strip, nearly every hotel has a buffet, or you could go real nice and try one of the places in the MGM, expensive but tasty!

The seafood buffett at the RIO... The best in the world. For $35 you eat all the lobster and crab legs you want. It's right on the strip.

I like the Treasure Island buffet and you definitely have to get over to Ellis Island and get the $5 steak dinner. You can get good cheap food downtown (fremont st) like shrimp cocktail
