It depends on who shortens my name if I mind or not. If a friend or family member shorten it I don't mind. If an acquaintance does, it irritates me, it happens often.

I like the short version. My full name is Jennifer but I prefer Jeni or Jen. Jennifer is just so proper and formal and I am anything but formal. However, I don't like it when they shorten my daughters name from Megan to Meg. I made her name short for a reason.... I don't think it needs to be shortened anymore than it is. She was almost Chrystal Angelique....now THAT would have been ok to shorten. LOL

No I much prefer to be called by my full christian name, but a shortened version is better than a nick name

I don't mind people calling me by shorter versions of my name as long as they are friends/family but I don't like when strangers take it upon themselves to shorten my name when they don't even know me, it can be annoying

i prefer the shortened name, and when i call my child a name in the future, i will shorten it!
