she should have no more than 16 oz. per day. maybe ask the peds if lowfat milk is ok. and she can also have solid foods like gerber graduates. they are marked with labels to help you choose which ones are best for her age

Maybe going to a sippy cup is key because when a child is on a bottle all they do is suck and suck. Having a sippy cup is different because you really have to work a getting the milk out. Limit the amount to like 4-6 ounces when giving her a drink but do it 4-5 times a day...it doesn't always have to be milk. If she is thristy and all she has is water...she will drink it. Just try more healthy snacks like watermelon peaches, give her a variety of more solid foods and then the doctor won't be so worried about her weight. Besides, half the doctors think kids are overweight when they are not. Being 5 pounds bigger happens because my 16 month old was chunky and called overweight and now since she has grown 4 inches in 3 months she lost her fat.......it can be frustrating but you can do it.

Give her actual meals instead of the bottle. Give her about 6 ounces of milk in a bottle or a cup when its necessary. Maybe if she is sleepy or just wants something to drink. I would get rid of the bottle all together. She definitely needs meals. Whole milk is just gonna fatten her up more if you give it to her like formula. I would just give her maybe 2 bottles or cups during the day and maybe one at night if she needs it to sleep. Other than that give her some food! I have a 10 months old that eats table food for breakfast lunch and dinner. She has milk in a cup with her meals. and 1 bottle at night.

well whole milk is pretty fattening. my daughter is on 7 oz 5 times a day along with solids and she is almost 8 months. at a year i will probebly be giving her a bottle a few times a day since she will be having juices with her meals aswell. Instead of giving her milk with her meals, just give it too her a couple times during the day and at night, but maybe lessen the solids a little as well at feedings .
as for the above post, yes, you can introduce sippy cups at a year, but that wasnt her question

My kids are older and I don't remember how much milk they had at that age, but at 12 months you need to stop with the bottle and move to a sippy cup. It is best to just give your baby their first milk in a cup and never in the bottle. If your pediatrician told you to lower her feedings, why didn't he tell you how much to feed her?
