If the normal body tempature is 98.6, then why is it so hot when you turn the heat up to 98.6?

Because the human body is exothermic. We maintain an internal temperature of 98.6, but we give off body heat constantly. If the ambient temperature is raised to the point where your body cannot radiate heat at an appropriate rate, you internal temperature will begin to rise, making you feel hot.

First of all, 98.6 is not the so-called normal body temperature. It is merely an average. Some of us may have a lower or higher temperature and still be considered normal. Your body constantly is losing heat through your skin. This is to keep your core from overheating. The higher the outside temperature gets, the less able your body is to lose excess heat.
