Do you know what is causing your constipation? Stress? Unable to relax? Out of town alot? Eating out most of the time? Not getting enough fiber? Not getting enough exercise? Drinking enough water?
When you realize why you are constipated you will be able to fix it. For stress you could get a massage or do deep breathing exercises or get in a hot tub. Fiber, lots of choices, I like the chewables they're easy. Exercise, just walking 20 min. a day, simple. Water, just say yes. Out of town is a tough one but if you're doing the things above it shouldn't be too bad. Remember soft bananas help you go, green bananas and cheese will stop you up. There's lots of other good ideas from everyone else. My friend's son drank an entire bottle of prune juice and had diarrhea for a whole day. So I know that stuff works real good.
One more thing. Try rubbing your belly, feeling for the hard, tight, painful muscles in there and try to work it out.
The muscles in the intestines get stressed just like our other muscles. Good luck to you.

Drink 2 to 3 lit water per day. Do not drink 30 minutes before and 6o minutes fater food. Add more fibre in your food. Take more fruits. Yiou may take two spoons of isabgol powder in milk at bed time. If you are a chapati eater, add two spoons of castor oil while kneedingthe dough. For long running effect and permanent cure, drink Indian Mulberry for about six months.

There are so many remedies that work for different people, and it's just a case of finding what works for you. The most effective things I've come across are liquorice, lots of water and fruit and veg, but only if you fancy it. If the thought of freuit and veg makes you feel meh, don't eat it as it will just sit on top of the clog and rot in your gut (pleasant). There's the obvious stuff like ex-lax and senna, or ask your pharmacist for Movicol. But for completely natural, water and liquorice.
Good luck xx

Constipation ?? Calls for a change in your eating habits
1.Eat only when you are hungry But drink (H2O) even if you aren't thirsty -One must drink atleast 5 - 7 ltrs of water every day - Lack of water intake indicates very little or No physical activities
(i) Never over eat, (eat in small quantity) (ii) Eat a lot of greens (vegs & fruits), (iii) Avoid non-veg food. (iv) avoid drinking water during meals. (v) Have a glass full of warm water after atleast 1.hr after having meals
2. Wake up early.(5.30 latest)
(i) Drink a glass full of warm water with a twist of lime and a spoonfull of honey mixed in it; (ii) Do a little free-hand / breathing exercise and/or go jogging/walking
3. Your first meal of the day should be eaten in good quantity before you set out for workplace/collage/school (your breakfast should include lots fruits & fruit jucies, cerael, milk, etc - avoid coffee altogeather- have light tea boiled with some herbs like mint & lemongrass - without milk)
4. keep drinking lots of water during the day, never drink cold water from the fridge or a cooler - always drink warm water whenever possible, avoid aerated waters like Pepsi, Coke, etc..
5. Have some more fruits or veg-salad (only if hungry), during rest of the day Avoid eating fast foods (as they contain every thing that is harmfull to health - it has a very high salt/sugar & spice contents, nonsoluble fats combined with artificial coloures and flavoures & preservatives)
6. Never mix foods. Certain foods dosent agree with each-other. e.g. Citrus and/or Sea-food could never go to gether with Dairy products
7. Should try and finish off with your last meal of the day before dusk.
8. Try and hit the bed before 11:00 at night (one must have a minimum of 6.hrs to a maximum of 8.hrs of sleep ( have a glass full of warm water once again before ending yr day)
9. Observe fasting atleast once in a week's time ( dont just eat any thing on the day you fast - but do drink a lot of water (warm if possible)
10. Have light pergative with a glass of warm water before going to bed
