Tamoxifen blocks the actions of the hormone estrogen. Clomid stimulates the release of hormones necessary for ovulation to occur.

Why are you being put on this?

Just a warning: my mom was put on Tamoxifen when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has a side effect that wasn't publicized at the time: it can lead to osteonecrosis of the jaw (or dead jaw). This happened to my mom, and now she has a permanent infection in her sinus cavity, half of her teeth fell out, and she is in constant pain.

Just something to consider.
