How do I transfer my home VHS movies to DVD?

Should I buy and install a DVD burner onto my PC or will a DVD recorder do the same?
I'm looking for the easiest way to go about doing this.

A DVD recorder is easier to use.

If you want to edit before you burn the DVD, a PC provides more flexibility, but takes more time as well.
