I love them and wish there were more. Very entertaining. Favorite is Nolan Ryan, or Pedro vs. Yankees... youtube it!
And yes, they can be harsh. Throwing at the head, I don't think there is too stiff of a suspension for that. a 100mph heater in the noggin can really f... mess you up.
Teams the retaliate with fist, too harsh.

To me its part of the entertainment. I have season tickets to a AAA game and my seats are down low right by the visitors dugout. I can hear so much and I love it. I can see real well into the home team dugout and have gotten pretty good at reading lips. To me that's part of the entertainment. My cursing vocabulary has increased, too. And as the game continues to become more and more international I'm learning new languages.
I also like to see the manager act a fool everyonce and a while - its part of the entertainment. Remember Philip WEllman with the Mississippi Braves last year - I love it - not all the time, but at least once a year.

I don't believe any good at all comes from a brawl. They are going to continue to occur because of the intensity of the players and you just hope no one gets hurt and is out for a period of time. MLB has to have suspensions and fines associated with the brawls because this is baseball and not hockey.

I like 'em. They are rare and honestly there is almost never any real contact between the players these days. It breaks up the baseball monotony and it's fun to see guys all fired up.
Not to mention, alot of it is posturing like Kenny Loften in the ALCS and if done right could get a pitcher or hitter kicked out of the game. Like Loften was trying to do to Beckett. It's another strategy that can be used...or some dumbasses blowing off steam. It's a long season...

I think it is kind of cool myself. Not sure exactly why I feel that way but I do. If you want to look up some really cool brawling history read about beer night at Cleveland Municipal Stadium where drunken fans stormed the field and it was on - fans, players, coaches. I got to see one during the playoffs this year. It was really cool to see my Tribesmen flying out of the bullpen and racing towards the mound.
Face it, people, the human race loves a fight dating to before the days of the actual gladiators.

when the level of competition gets that high (or low?) you will do anything to win, including backing a batter out of the box by throwing the ball at his head.(there are no other good reasons) the only useful reaction to that, (besides avoiding the pitch) is to charge the mound for team and owner.
as for suspensions, that rose guy was suspended for life, and this kid's just trying to help the team.

O i admire brawls. Im evaluate myself a notably good baseball fan yet you are able to in basic terms watch fred lweis and ray durham hit quite some situations. now and lower back a staggering combat between 2 communities is what gets teh followers excited. despite the fact that I dont like those ones the place like the two benches empty yet no longer something extremely occurs. i prefer to verify a memorable conflict between 2 people. it relatively is whats extremely exciting. particularly while its between competitors (are you able to assert pink sox vs yankees!)

I love em!!! You know what makes me mad though is how in today's game no team is allowed to retaliate without some extreme circumstances. I remember 10-15 years ago when someone hit a home run and showboated around the bases, either they, or one of their teammates was getting drilled the next at bat. I guess that is true for every sport...teams are protected now when a player acts stupid or does something he should have to pay for.

these guys r supposed to be professionals and adults---- they r NOT good role models if they want to fight let em go to boxing ---Carlos Zambrano is one of the worst out of control players I ever seen and neither Dusty Baker or Lou Pinella even attempts to shut him down and teach him some self control. I m really sick of that juvenile behavior.

Leave the brawls to hockey, if your team loses a key player to a brawl it is not so entertaining, go to boxing instead!
