No, and I also think there should be a cutoff date in which the elderly are allowed to drive as well. I have seen too many near-accidents that have occurred because of elderly people driving. Its not that I am discriminatory but its just the fact that their response time is a lot slower than in an average adult person. Kids are just too immature earlier than 16 years old to be driving. They will just start getting themselves arrested at an earlier age.

Hell No!!!! To many teens think that are all that and a bag of chips and dont care about how fast they go or what stupid things they do while driving. They are careless and dont pay attention. But here in Tn the law is changed. I think you get a permit until youhave been driving for a yr then you can get your license at 17. Or just go for the real thing at 18. I think that is what I was told

Absolutely not. There are very few teens that are mature enough to drive at 16 or even 18. I started driving at 14 and I am lucky to be alive as are all the people in my town and all their dogs and children. There are of course a few exceptions on this because all kids are different but in general they are not ready that early.

Absolutely not, in fact some states are now issuing a provisional liscence for 16 year olds which does not allow them to drive at night or with more than one other person in the car (excluding parents). This law has reduced the 16 year old vehicular death toll in those states by 20%

Absolutely not. 17 seems to be the norm and that's a good age, I think. Here in Arizona I think they can drive at 15 or 16 and we have one of the highest teen car crash fatality rates in the country. Enough said. Of course, it helps that this asinine state doesn't require any sort of drivers' education...but I digress.

No...17 minimum driving age.

I think it should be atlease 18 and younger if they need to drive for work or study but other then that 18 is a good age to start driveing.

I think that 16 is an acceptable to start driving, but shouldn't be allowed to go solo until 17 or 18. I also think that driving schools are too short and too lenient. There should be multiple driving tests and unannounced driving tests.

Absolutely not. We've had 15 teens die in my area in the last 19 months, all from poor decisions (speed, drunk) and inability to control the car. They SHOULD be raising the driving age or lengthening the "learning" stage when an adult must be in the car.

No, I think the age should be raised.
Too many young, immature, drivers out there.
Not saying that anyone older is any more mature, but you get the drift.

And I also think more instructive behind the wheel experience is needed, not simply taking one driving test and bingo, license. It takes time and I think a longer period of behind the wheel training should be implemented.
