That sounds like a lovely gift! This woman sells all kinds of Kimonos and kimono related products. I see her at lots of fairs in the Baltimore area, but if that is inconvenient for you, you can order on-line, it seems.

If you are near Manhattan.... Kimono House on Thompson has beautiful Kimono and kimono fabric. I think they custom make them as well. It is pricey though.
