A-Rod has a shot, so does Pujols. But length of time of active play is the key--an injury can push that goal out of reach in only a single year, and if it's a lingering injury.

Remember, no one thought Gehrig's record would ever be broken--and only one player has come close, and he smashed it!

As for the yearly, yeah, it will. The longer there are 30 teams in the league the longer there will be weak pitching. If a guy like A-Rod or Pujols goes into a series where he will face the number 2 through 4, or even 3 through 5, pitchers, he can afford to try and tee-off for three days, especially if he plays on a good team where his at-bats aren't that important (read that as a drubbing against A-Rod and the Yankees).

At least, these are my thoughts.

Mario Bruce Hernandez Ali Muzuma Aiko is the most likely to break it in the year 2046. At that time he will be on Charlotte's roster. However, reports of him using a plasma bat will dog him for the the remainder of his career. He will deny all accusations and will not return any of his 185 million dollar contract for that year.

Alex Rodriquez will break the record if he stays healthy and continues to play.
Also - I would keep an eye on Prince Fielder of Milwaukee.

Arod, as much as I hate him, will break the all-time record. And will probably be broke after that.

Hard saying about single season, I think my unborn child has a chance.

Of course not. The robots are going to be hitting a LOT more home runs that Barry Bonds ever dreamed about. Maybe that's why he started doing the steroids. It was the best he could do to make himself like the robots that will one day replace him.
