when i stretch it, it helps a little...i am wondering if i should wrap my feet or lower legs.....it really hurts...

shin splints, i have one right now to. ice whenever possible, ESPECAILLY before and after exercise. also, wrap the swollen area during play or when your not iceing it. to help prevent shin splints, buy doctor sholes soles for your shoes. puting muscle relaxants such as Bengay and Icy-Hot will also help get rid of the pain for a while, id use these before your practice starts. swelling is normal, just keep iceing it and it will go down. fyi they take quite a long time to heal. if the pain increases to a point were it becomes unbearable, then you should stop playing until the shin splint has healed. your coach will understand. good luck! :)
