The back of the box lists the ESRB reasons for the rating; Sims 2 Deluxe is rated T for crude humor, sexual themes, and violence. I suspect crude humor comes from people having a bladder accident and everyone laughing, or using a hand buzzer or whoopee cushion; sexual themes comes from the 'woo-hoo', the Sims equivalent for sex - this happens under the covers or in the hot tub or dressing room or car, and it's not graphic, but it does show the items moving around and playful moaning/laughing; and violence from the fact that your Sims can get into fights and beat each other up - the actions are blocked by a giant cloud of dust, so you don't actually see anything.
The different language is Simlish, the language that the Sims speak. The game has been released in dozens of countries, not all of them English speaking, so a fake language was created for the game. It's not translatable, and it doesn't mean anything.
Sit down with your daughter and play with her; learn about the game, have her show you what she likes. The official website is http://www.thesims2.com - you can view user creations and stories, read about the game, and see screenshots. Be informed - but in this game, there really isn't anything to worry about.

I think its rated teen is because they can do sexual stuff on sims but you cant really see them naked cause its blurred out. Ive never actually played sims 2 deluxe but i have play alot of sims. Its not on a different language just usually all the sims speak jibberish,

lol. that differen't language is not actually any language, nobody except the sims understands it!
it's a harmless game... however, if you are letting your daughter tell you to run out of a room... maybe you should put your foot down & tell her you're not comfortable letting her play the game until you see what it's about... or go a little further... & play it a little while yourself.//

I think you can kiss in it that's why it's teen, and the sims can die if you don't take care of them. Also the other language is what it is always on there is no way you or anyone can change it.

it is rated teen cuz it has sexual content and romance and stuff like that. even though u cant see anything and its censored(there is a cheat to uncensor though) u wouldnt find something like that on a rated E game .the language didnt change. its always like that.
