I believe that she is genuinely sorry. I honestly think that Oprah is a genuine person. Maybe I am naive because I am a fan, but I think that most of what she does and believes comes from her heart.

Of course, she too, is trying to protect her reputation. Wouldn't you?

Oprah has a HUGE heart and she is a very real person. While she may have a publicist telling her the right words to use with the media, I believe she is honestly hurt and angered by these events. Her reputation may precede her, but she is a genuine person, which is the only reason she is where she is today.

I'm not sure that these are exclusive of each other. Of course she is trying to protect her reputation - she's a celebrity but that doesnt mean that she cant be sorry that this happened too. You might even say that she could be sorry that this happened because it could hurt her reputation.

I think she is genuinely sorry for something that really was not her fault.
She was just trying to do the right thing by giving these girls a decent education which is what a lot of people don't want. Imagine what would happen if the African people decided to take back their oil fields, diamond mines, etc.. Of course certain people would prefer an uneducated, famine, and disease ridden Africa.
Who the hell just gave me a thumbs down? bloody coward speak

Yes, I think that she is sorry, she was sexually abused as a child and she knows how horrible that can be, sure she does have a reputation to save, but if you were put in that situation wouldn't you do the same, famous or not?

Oprah seems to be a very genuine person. I'm sure she meant every word and if she could have prevented it I'm sure she would have.
