They're just stupid. I am mexican & my skin is white & i think his family shouldn't have a problem.. How mean! If you were dating my brother, we'd all be nice to you, So dont assume all mexican people are like that..

& yeah, i live in mexico & it depends on where you go that you'll see different tones of skin, i live up north & i see more poeple with light skin that with dark.. But if you go south like Oaxaca or something you'll see that they're really dark..

Well, that's a very difficult question to answer. I think it's because of the machismo that's prevelant in many Latino cultures. I believe that people should treat each other with dignity and respect. People have to see what comes from within rather than worry about what shows from without. In short, you should never judge a book by its cover; what's inside is what counts. And the more your friends realize that, the better it will be for all of you.

I wouldnt pay them much attention. They are probably just very traditional & haven't had much experience with interracial couples. They will have to get used to eventually!

Most women will have that problem anyway with the family....for one reason or another. My cousin had the same problem. She is Mexican born & raised in the US. Her boyfriend is Mexican...raised in Mexico. His family took a long time (4 years) before they approved of her bc she wasn't a "traditional" mexican women.

So yeah.....just be nice, dont mind them & they'll get over it!

My aunt is my mother's adopted sister. She is Chinese and her husband is Italian. When they got married his mother had a fit and at one point said to her that she should be "cleaning her (his mother's) house, not marrying her son". People are racist in ways you wouldn't believe and this world can be very ugly and intolerent of mixed race couples. If you love each other and really want to make it work, just ignore what the others say... in the end it's just you and him anyway.

Any body that hates a whole color just for being that color is nuts. Sounds like the Mexican Bill O'Reilly.

Ignor them. My hubby is Asian American, I'm Caucasian, no biggie. half his family are married to non-Asians. Love is color-blind - maybe in the matter of having to listen to criticism about your relationship, it should be deaf and mute, too.
