I put up a question 2 days ago and had about 20 positive responses. These brave men do deserve better and good for you for reminding us.
I think my question would still be current if you want to look for it.

Maybe if one of the firemen wasn't dead...but had been kidnapped whilst the others were on a lunchbreak...
Sorry, just joking. I know what you mean, I suppose that just goes to show what constitutes news material these days- a month from now it'll all be forgotten. Very sad.
God rest those lads' souls, and I'll be thinking of their close ones.

I logged on the other Day and there was a few questions and a few lovely poems - but i agree with you.
I havent listen to the news since dinner time a they were still searching for the bodies. it really is so tragic!
This is the worst tragic to the brigade since the 50's.

It's a tragic loss and it's a shame because whenever I come over to this section there always seems to be a sad event, may they rest in peace,I mean risking their own lives for the sake of others I do feel saddened.

I knew Ian reid. He had a 11 year old daughter called sophie.
He helped my grandad with his taxes. Im only 12. But he also ran a girls football team so most of the girls that go to my school are devestated. I live in stratford upon avon. I also live about 20 meters away from the fire station.. Lodge Road when i walk to school i see all the flowers on the grass patch.
and yet this news is barely anywhere. Screw the mccans its time for them to accpet maddies gone.

I agree with you 100%. One of my best friends is a volunteer firefighter; if anything happened to him my heart would break. They deserve more respect than they get for the work they do.

What could we possibly say? They gave their lives fighting a fire and in all probability their senior officer will face charges for sending them into a building where the were no trapped people. May they all rest in peace
