I had a baby 8 months ago, and yeah it was sore and there were times when I felt I wasn't going to be able to do it....but I did ! And you will too ! And it will be magical and so so so so worth it.....Someone told me to look at the pain in a positive way, that these pains meant my baby was on its way and I would see it soon, and that kept me going, you could try that xx

Well, I had an epidural with my first. With my second I had no time the baby was born within 15 mins of getting to the hospital I wasn't even admitted yet. My last baby I got an epidural because when i had my second i tore and it hurt more than ANYTHING that I've ever experienced. When I had to push the baby it was easy because i could feel everything. With my last I ha dtaken longer to push because the epidural made it so I could'nt feel my area down there, but when the baby's head was right there, all I had to do was cough a big cough at my next contraction and she slid right out. My doctor told me of this coughing method when I was prego with my last baby, and he also told me that he never had a patient rip or tear by doing this. When it comes time to push, use the contractions as a natural way to do so. Have someone hold your legs way back, and bear down with all you can, breath relaxed as much as you can (even though it may seem impossible you can) and push until the babys head crowns, when this happens as soon as you hear the doctor say one more push, instead of pushing, at the next contraction, give a litlle push and a BIG cough (one like you mean it from the diafram) and the baby should slide right out. Good luck and congrats!

Labor for every woman is different. Some find it easy while others find it hard. Mine was terrible, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Look around you, millions upon millions of woman have had babies and they all live through it. The few - long hours of labor you go through is short compared to the life-time of love you will have with this child.

Definately get an epidural if you are worried about pain and have a good support person with you.

Good Luck :)

the pain is unavoidable, unless you get an epidural but there's still discomfort. did your doc say you were going to have a VBAC? if so then the birth with out an epidural will go by more quickly its gonna be painful but faster because you can feel the pain and pressure and it makes you push more vigorously and harder and in result the baby's head wont spend much time in the birth canal and the baby wont have a cone shaped head as with an epidural the birth could take much longer because you feel little to nothing down there and you wont be as motivated to push and baby's head gets a cone shape to it, the head will return back to normal after a few days but if it can be avoided altogether why not endure the pain, besides after the shoulders roll out you want even remember being in pain you will be too overwhelmed by the precious bundle you just delivered in this world

while labor and delivery are generally the same in women, every woman experiences it differently and has a different level of pain tolerance...my mom said that labor was "annoying" but didn't hurt - well I tell you I felt like an alien was trying to rip through my abdomen it hurt so bad...you have experienced labor if you felt painful contractions - speak to you dr about this and let them know you would like pain medication - they can give you meds that work immediately where you kinda feel drunk without the negative side effects and you still feel contractions but they don't hurt so bad - or tell them you want an epidural which will totally numb you from the waist down - this is a bonus because you can sleep and won't feel those excruciating contractions and will be able to push but because you won't feel contractions you won't know when to push so you have to listen to the dr very carefully - remember that the female body was meant to give birth so this is natural for your body and your body will kinda take over

My first labor was excrutiating. It was 21 hours long, back labor etc. But my second one was a cake walk. Say yes to drugs. Get an epidural, If the epidural is given at the right time, you wont feel pain, but you will feel the pressure and will know when to push. Same as you will feel the baby come out, but it won't be painful. I think my second was easier because I knew it couldn't be as bad as the first. Find something else to think of while going thru it. Think about what they will look like, think about how the other sibling feels about it, any distraction to help. It will be OK. Just talk to your doctor about pain options before you get there.

If you have already had a C-section, they probebly wont let you give birth naturaly now, depends what happened with the first one i think.
It does hurt like hell. The contractions are soo hard to breath through even though they are telling you "breath", "youre doing so good"... and all your saying is "shut the F up".
Pushing, ahhh the joy of feeling like your are trying to poop a very large grapefruit, not fun, and i hope it dosnt last long for you if you go that route. They tell you when to push or when not too push, but really your body starts on its own and you cant help but push and them telling you dont push, yah right, have you ever tried to stop peeing in the middle of a stream, not possible. haha But when its all said and done, you forget the pain and it only hurts again when they try and make you go to the bathroom after. Good luck to you,

i gave birth to two natural and to be very honest with you it really doesn't hurt that much i just had gas and air with both and if you just take your time and breath in nice and slowly and listen to what the midwife say u you will be fine the pushing bit just feels like you want to go for a really big poo but at first you will feel like it will come out of the wrong way then they will tell you to push down at your bottom if you do that then you will feel like your having a poo but people are different i was Lucky my labours didn't last that long but if you take it easy and listen you will be just fine oh ask for a birthing ball that helps loads when you have a contraction and have some music it helps to

I myself am giving birth to a second child in Feb. Although, I did experience the pushing, its honestly not as bad as you would imagine! I did not recieve an epidural, I only had Stadol up until I was fully dialated. Believe me when I say it is well worth the pain! Im not sure about your situation, but you may be instore for another c-section anyways, unless you get V-bac. Ask your O/B.

Remember you can have some drugs to help ease the pain. Im told the epidural is brilliant and that you cant still feel your stomach contracting but it doesnt hurt. Im scared of birth and im only 7 weeks pregnant. I hope everything gos well for you. Remember you will get through it and be fine xx
