Right now...I'm willing to bet he ends up on the Dodgers. Not only do the Dodgers need a 3rd baseman he is close with Torre and the Dodgers can afford to pay him closer to what he wants than most other teams. That combined with him being with Torre again puts the Dodgers on the top of the list.

i think that arod will end up going with the angels..moreno (the angels owner) had said that no player is worth that much money but im oretty sure he will pull the trigger and land arod and this will give the angels a big push!

Red Sox would be the front-runners.. simply because Arod announced he was screwing the Yankees & their 10-day negotiation/window at the precise time that the Sox were winning the WS (and show me ANY tape of anyone in Red Sox management/ownership that said "why are you asking me THIS, when we just won the WS and I'm covered in champagne?!?). Because they orchestrated this, and wanted AROD & traded Manny to get him, if your recall?

Red Sox 1
LA Dodgers 2
Angels 3
NY Mets 4
Chi Cubs 5

And that's all for the market.

I don't think A-Rod is insisting on 35 mil a yr, I think his priority is a World Championship ring. Having said that, he won't go to a contender for nothing.

He'll go to the team that offers the most money AND has good playoff/ championship possibilities.

The Angels are a good team, but where would A-Rod play? You COULD plug him in at 3d base, Figgins can play just about anywhere, but would Mareno be willing to pay the kind of money it would take for Boras and A-Rod to seriously consider an offer?

I would think the best fit for A-Rod would be the Mets. They could move reyes to second base, give A-Rod his place back at shortstop. Could you think of a better team to go to for exacting revenge on the Yankees and their fans other than the Mets? They HATE EACH OTHER!
Also, the Mets have loosened the purse strings for other players.

Then there's the Red Sox, but I doubt they would want to tie up their money on one player, even if it's the best player in baseball. True, the Yankees and Red Sox hate each other, but as far as fan base, the true rivals of the Yankees are the Mets.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

If he's insists on 35 mil a year, slim to none. The Angels are interested, and they will be willing to spend some money, but their owner isn't the kind of guy to spend 1/4 of the teams payroll to one player. If they can get him for 25-30 million, I think its a strong possibility, but for more than that, I just don't see it.

Right now....I think he ends up in LA, but with the Dodgers.

I think the Angels and Dodgers are the two most likely destinations for A-Rod to end up.

Even at last year's price ($25 million), I don't think Arte Moreno is going to pay that kind of money.
