I think there are only two who stay on daylight savings time. I think its a good idea. Before the end of the year, it will be dark before 5:00 p.m.
Arizona and Hawaii are the two states that use DST year round.

They say for the farmers, but I don't believe that. They say for the commuters, but that is idiotic. What are we saving? There is still the same amount of daylight either way you look at it. I can see fifty years ago having this system for the farmers because of the way our society worked. Stores and markets open at this hour, but it's dark. But we now are in a society where the ball rolls 24 / 7. I tell you why... It's a joke! Out with the old and in with the new!

DST came from a proposal of Benjamin Franklin to wake an hour earlier and sleep an hour later to make use of the extended hours of sunlight during the summer and save on burning then expensive candles. This later became switching clocks. It is still used effectively for farmers and saving on electricity by way of lights. Hawaii and Arizona do not use DST. They are on standard times all year (the West Coast and Arizona are on the same time during Pacific DST).

Probably since it was supposed to conserve energy. I see it as a waste of energy since you now have to turn your lights on an hour earlier when you come home in the evening.
