Political correctness is nothing but a form of cenorship & doublespeak, created by liberals. Don't you realize just how one sided & unfair it is? For example I can type white-trash & cracker, & post it in this forum. But if I posted something offensive about a minority group I would get a violation notice from Y!A. But of course political correctness only protects the people of "marginal" groups from being offended. Here are some examples of politically correct bullshit.
blind = visually challenged
gay = different
midget = little person
Retard = Mentally Challanged
black = African-American
Indian = Native American
non-white = person of color
Anyone from Mexico, Central America, South America, or the Carribean = Hispanic/Latino
dead = living impaired
dishonest = ethically disoriented
fired = laid off
garbage man = sanitation worker
homeless = residentially flexible
illegal immigrant = undocumented immigrant
perverted = sexually dysfunctional
poor = financially unstable
wrong = differently logical

you're 100% correct, this is a disease and it's killing the American culture.
It was created by the Liberals who saw competition as a bad thing and wanted everyone to get a trophy, even the losers...
so this tells me they probably were on the losing team a few times too many. this also might explain why they're trying so desperately to win the White House...

Look... until we, the American People, stand up and say we don't submit to Political Correctness... we won't stand for being accused of sexual harrassment because we told a co-worker she looked nice that day... we won't add tags to the term 'American' to create divisive groups or give special benefits to certain 'minorities' but will rather call all Americans just that... Americans... until we're able to get together and do that, the ACLU and their PC Police will continue to deface the American Dream.

In time i believe there will be a counter revolution in Britain and hopefully the USA as well. At last people are waking up to what a minority of Neo Marxist oddballs have done to the culture here in Britain and are fighting back. We all should ignore there wishes on language and celebrating Christian festivals etc and actually do the opposite . We could teach our children proper history and traditional folktales and games like conkers without face protection. Arrange Carol singing in islington ( home of many left wing killjoys) or you own neighborhood just don,t give in . This is our country which freedom was brought by our ancestors many who died for it we should not allow a bunch of arrogant unpatriotic losers take it from us.It is our children who will ask why did you let our country be taken from us?

You're completely correct. Just as interesting is the origin of the term "politically correct". In the 30s and 40s it was known as "cultural marxism" and was taught at Columbia University by a cadre of marxists, including Horkheimer, Gramsci, Adorno, Lucazs and Marcuse, all of whom had fled Nazi Germany in the 30s after teaching at Frankfurt University. In the 50s when communism was the focus of attention in America, those in the "Frankfurt School"
changed the name of that phenomenon to "political correctness". Sir Anthony Hopkins, the actor, once commented that he despised PC because it is inherantly so dishonest.

Jack Lewis - We used to talk about the counter-culture as being those on the other side.. We are now the counter-culture.

we need to educate those who are knee deep in the liberal thought process.
In order to do that, we need to clean up the mess that is our education system.
Too much money is being generated by that screwed up education system as well as a degenerative voting populace that benefits the democratic political machine.
So, unfortunately, as long as victims continue to be produced and those victims benefit a very wealthy political party (the dems), then political correctness will be difficult to rid ourselves of. We must be willing to engage in the daily battle of trying to educate and re-educate, because it is clear that those who think with their heart clearly defecate with their mouth. They need our help in the proper use of their organs, then the rest may fall into place.

Remember, PC was created by the Liberals who were afraid to tell little Johnny that 2 + 2 does not equal 5. No wonder the libs think they have a higher intelligence level...they were never told they were wrong. They're walking around today believing that 2 + 2 does equal 5... Bahahahahaha. Gotta love 'em, for the comedy factor alone.

I don't think people even know what political correctness really is, because you have people out their only want to bash minority group, but when their own race is being bash, then everything have to be political

Certainly, political correctness has gone too far in many instances (double standards). That being said, I don't think, generally speaking, that it's too much of a bother to address people the way that they want to be addressed nor is it any particular burden to be considerate of others and to think about what I'm saying before I say it. I think we need to stop blasting people for their opinions but, if you want to be called a sanitation worker instead of a garbage man it's no skin off of my back. At the end of the day, you're still performing the same functions and you still are who you are so if changing your title helps you sleep at night, more power to you.

Five thumbs down? Wow, I'll admit that I'm a bit surprised. For all of you complaining, you know you have freedom of speach right? No one HAS to participate in the "liberal politically correct" culture that you all find so repugnant. If don't have the testicular fortitude to stand by your own system of belief, that's your problem and you shouldn't blame anyone else for it. I've never called anyone African-American a day in my life and I never will. See, I made a choice and I've stood by it. I'm still alive, still have a job, still have blk friends and no one has ever accused me of racism. Stop your whining. People can only do to you what you allow them to do to you and for all of those waiting for the "American people" to do something, you realize you're American and you're a person right?

It has already been seriously mocked within my circle of family and friends. I have also witnessed a decline of it within those groups who most "benefit" from "political correctness".

So, yeah I have noticed a decline.

by political correctness, don't you really mean civility? civility was created by liberals? Yeah ..I can see your point now. The smarter more civilized americans are more civil, and the uneducated rednecks tend to not understand good manners and respect for others and how we are all part of this country and have equal rights just like it says in the constitution. You guys...welll you guys think the constitution is too politically correct don't you?
lol .. yeah....I am laughing, but not with you.
