that 's the thing about Yankee haters. they think that the Yankees are cheaters and that they don't deserve their pay roll, and ya know what? they do. George Steinbrenner is a fine owner and he uses that money for good reasons: to make a better Yankees team. So the mets and their fans should just be quiet and shove it because jealousy is a powerful thing. and the mets will not get gay-rod, they already have a 3rd baseman. if they do get him and move wright to 1st they had better stop crying about the Yankees payroll, because they're the idiotic team that gave him what he wanted when the NEW YORK YANKEES didn't.

Fans only complain about the payroll of other teams if that team wins. Should the Red Sox sign A-Rod it is possible that the Red Sox might have a higher payroll than the Yankees next year, depending on who the Yankees acquire. Should this occur the Yankees fans will now accuse the Red Sox of buying championships. Some fans always have to find some reason their team was beaten by the other.

Nah...Yankee fans will cry about Met payroll if the 'other' New York team were to sign Rodriguez.
What's 26 to 7, anyway? Did the Mets beat the Yankees in a stickball battle yesterday, or something?

Your question is fundamentally flawed for two reasons. First is that the Mets, in all likelihood, won't even be making a play for ARod this time around. Second is that the Mets fans complaints about the Yankees payroll ended about twenty years ago.

Mets getting A-Rod? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Yeah, right! Mets got David Wright for third base and where are they gonna put him anyway? Shortstop? No way. Mets got Jose Reyes. Unless A-Rod is willing to play second base which I don't think he does 'cause moving Reyes to second base is a bad idea. Mets moved Reyes to second base when they got Kaz Matsui and it was a terrible decision. Plus, just look at his payroll. Better get some quality arms than pay that much money for Gay-Rod.

Don't blast the Mets fans until they sign him, first of all. Secondly, A-Rod is not coming to the Mets. The price is too high and the Mets have much bigger holes to fill.

Sorry to tell you but no team will ever approach the Yankees payroll so you will always have to defend yourselves on that one.
The second highest payroll was the Red Sox and they were still $70 million below the Skanks.

Just a rivalry thing. Hope no one signs A-Rod. That would be the greatest thing to happen to baseball.
