I'm not sure how to describe how linear functions are related to the arithmetic sequence.

For every arithmetic sequence, there's a linear function s so that the nth term is s(n).

Specifically, if a is the increment of the sequence, the nth term is s(n) = a*n+b, where b = (the first term) - a
