We read that the Portuguese Police admit they found it difficult to control the McCanns appartment crime scene on the night of 3rd May 2007. But point out that the local officers had to contend with the alcohol filled McCanns and their 'Tapas' friends.

"They'd all been drinking. They weren't falling over but it was hard to deal with them"

'Leaks from inside the police investigation suggested the so-called Tapas Nine ordered daiquiris, martinis and beers before dinner, downed up to 14 bottles of wine with their meal, and usually enjoyed almond liqueur afterwards.'

Can we really blame local Portuguese Police for not being able to handle this child neglecting group of drunken Brits on a holiday binge ?

It makes me laugh when people blame the portuguese police for "...bungling the investigation". How could they have bungled an investigation that came to an abrupt end the moment the McCanns fled Portuga, a day after the Portuguese Police declared them OFFICIAL SUSPECTS ?! There is no investigation going on anymore. It is finished, kaput, ended, defunct. The McCanns RAN AWAY and they are being harboured by us, in this country.... Please let's all grow up ! If one seeks the truth through discussion one is accused of being anti McCann. The Portuguese Police are saying nothing, remember that. They are not allowed to by law. Let's not forget the fact that while the 'search' for Madeleine continues, the McCanns are off the hook, for if we all believe the little angel is still alive, the McCanns then are surely innocent.
It's all becoming a joke... that "Morrocons kidnapped Madeleine and are keeping her in northern Morroco." What for ? Why should Morocons do that ? How often has that happened before ? Never ? Why would Morrocons want to do that ? And who in their sane intelligent minds believe in crap like that ?!!! All big mysteries have the simplest of explanations. Madeleine has passed away, a result of her parents neglect and in fear and in panic and drunk they make the mistake of hidding the body... and now, sober, they have to continue lying or else they are in big sh*t.
If wanting to know the truth is being anti McCanns then I am anti McCann and pro Madeleine and pro Portuguese Police who have an impossible case on their hands and all they get is stupid criticism from some of us. It is their country... they have not asked for that big crime to be commited in their country. You know what ? I have confidence in their judgment which is more than I can say for many of so called pro-McCanns. They now want to declare some of the MCanns's friends official suspects. I wish the PJ-GNR well. I only hope that whoever hurt that child fries in hell.

This is old news, it was reported in the papers ages ago. Thing is Anti McCann's want to believe everying negative that the media come up with and Pro McCann's want to believe everything concerning them that is positive. I think there is a real big majority out here who are really confused, concerned and genuinely do not know what to think about this situation, other than dead or alive (hopefully alive) Madelene can be found and some closure brought and justice done. At present there is no black or white to this case but those adamant to be either colour are usually the ones that shoot their mouths off without any defitnite proof. Lets face it if there was proof arrests would have been made. It is the people who truthfully admit to not knowing that are the majority.

I find all this so sad. I have been shaking my head in disbelief at the drunken yobs on holiday in other Countries. It has made me ashamed to be British on holiday. We have an awful reputation. But now, how on earth can we blame the youngsters when so called professional people, Doctors, supposed adults behave like this, they are worse than the youngsters as they lead by example and on top of everything neglect their little ones. SHAME ON THE LOT OF THEM.

It sounds very much as if the police were not up to these people. They should have taken a much firmer stand. They may have thought it was a bunch of drunks getting hysterical and the child was not really gone. By the time they found out she was it was too late the flat was walked all over.
