If the denomerators are different, multiply the numerator and demonerator by the other fraction's denominator. Then, add the numerators and reduce the fraction.
ex: 3/4 x 3/5
3/4 x 5 = 15/20, 3/5 x 4 = 12/20, 15/20 + 12/20 = 27/20 which reduces to 1 & 7/20

For example 1/3+1/3
These fractions are similar fractions, because they share the same denominator (the bottom number). This allows you to just add the numerators (the top numbers) and find your answer. 1+1 is 2, so your answer would be 2/3, because you just use the same denominator, but add the numerators.

when you have sililiar fractions , that is the denominatore are the same, simply add the numerators and then place the denominator below the numerator.
ex. 1/4+2/4=3/4
