Actually, Ron Paul raised $4.3 million in total.

And Mustagme is incorrect -- it was 170,000 donors to Paul's campaign. The maximum contribution you can make to a presidential campaign is $2300.

Paul has a broad base of supporters around the country. He may surprise people in Iowa.

Yes, and I personally was one of those 30,000 people giving my hard earned cash for a great cause.

To those who say he's a marginal candidate, those polls are not "national polls" they are media polls, and the news network that hosts those polls, also pick who gets to be in the polls. Lets look at some real polls, the straw polls. Here's some results that show Ron Paul, is not <2%

Total wins (Total number of first-place finishes.)
1. Paul, Thompson (19)
3. Romney (10)
4. Giuliani (3)
5. Huckabee, Hunter (2)

9. Keyes 0-0-1 (1)

Recent votes (Votes (total 13888) taken after the Ames Straw Poll of 2007-08-11, in all cases where vote counts are reported. This compares recent with overall performance, and avoids giving undue weight to the results of the single largest poll.)

3. Huckabee 2583 (18.60%)

no longer unavoidably. Now, if it took John Edwards 40 greater days to enhance $a million million for his marketing campaign, then i'd say that Ron Paul is unquestionably the severe candidate. yet 4 days isn't that vast of a deal.

Wrong, he actually raised just over $4,000,000 dollars in a 24 hour period. That is mighty impressive when you consider that this was ALL via small private donations from ordinary people, this was ALL given on the day, not merely pledged, and NONE of it came with a political price tag from some corporation, expecting their pound of flesh in return.

There is another major donation drive coming up soon. but the MOST important thing Ron Paul Supporters MUST MUST MUST do is to register as republican NOW to support Ron Paul with your vote in the primaries.

Do It NOW!

labken1817, you really do like to wear your ignorance as a badge of honor don't you? Who did he get his campaign contributions from? thousands of ordinary Americans. not one cent of it was donated by any of the people you list or any corporate hanger on. You just don't get it do you? Ron Paul IS the real deal. His support amongst hundreds of thousands of Americans is real and growing very very quickly. So get on board or get the hellouta the way!

You're wrong actually, he raised 4 million dollars. The media misreported by accident and said 3.5

To the first answerer:

Ron Paul has a great chance at winning. What do you think hes going to do with those MILLIONS of dollars in the bank??

Yes. I was one of the people to donate. I don't think that the people dissing Ron Paul here are likely to have taken the time to actually read your links. So I think that it's worth it to point out that his one day total is the largest for any Republican in the field.

his total for Q4 is 7.3 million so far he says he needs 12 to win the 4 earliest primary states - with over 60000 volunteers doing most of the leg work for free he will give himself a real shot at winning those states - without the media giving people any ideas as to what his platform really is about -word of mouth and the internet have really been pushing his campaign along to the point he will be in contention for the candidacy whether or not the media wants to admit it or not

People are starting to pay attention to Ron Paul. He's not your typical Republican and is even getting support from many democrats that I know. Check out his website http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

GO RON PAUL!!

Don't listen at the detractors. They want to vote for a winner, they don't care who really wins, they know that it's not going to make a difference. If you want to vote for liberty, decency and coherence, you know who to vote for. It's time to change.

Wow, 3.5 million in one day. I wonder whose contributions the Paul campiagn decided to now accept, Tobacco lobby? Oil lobby? NRA?

Did you know that Ron Paul is still polling around the 2-3% range? Did you know that the Ron Paul campiagns highest poll by state is in Michigan (excluding Texas where he is polled at 6.0%) with 5.7%. Did you know Ron Paul is one of the only candidates whose unfavorbility rating is higher then his favorbility rating.

I personally would love to see Ron Paul win the Republican primary, In head to head polls he doesn't get over 35% against any democratic opponnet. Ron Paul get's the Republican nomination, Democrats will overwhelmingly win the White House, not to mention that republican candidates all over the US will be begging the Republican Presidential Nominee to stay away from there district as they would not want to be assocaited with numbers that low. The Democrats pick up a few Senate seats and 30 more seats in the House. Go ahead and throw your money and your support to Ron Paul. Don't forget when he loses to blame it all on the media.
