for instance when mayor ray nagin of new orleans urging residents to rebuild the " chocolate city ", or when judge borns told his friend crackers need to be relocated, these things go unpunished, why? if a white person were to say these things about black people it would be all over the news and his career would be over with in a heartbeat, this is especially true with some black comedians some of their jokes are derogatory against white people but nobody cares unless its a white comedian making derogatory statements against blacks

It's because a lot of people are stupid, & only complain about racism if there's a White person to blame. Most people just don't care or ignore it when minorities are racist. That's just the way it is in American society.

I'm not sure if you all are aware but there are comedians that mock Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Indians, and Asians. You have MadTV, Comedy Central, BET Comic View, etc.

There are movies that use the word n!gger ALL the time, and not as a term of endearment but specifically a White person referring to a Black person as a n!gger in a condescending tone. American Gangster is only ONE example as there are many more. Even on TV shows, Cold Case for example. When they do a flashback of a crime, sometimes it is in a time era where there was a lot of racial segregation and the "N" word comes up.

The comedian argument is really played out. I honestly have not heard a Black comedian make a joke about Whites racially unless it was a satire. You probably didn't catch on to it because you are so quick to play the race card.

As for a government figure, that is a different story.
Also, Ray Nagin apologized, but I can see where non-Blacks might have been offended. You probably thought Nagin didn't want Whites in his city...but seriously New Orleans was chocolate city...Blacks brought a lot of culture to New Orleans. Do you think it will be the same? Or have you thought that maybe Nagin wants to stay in office and the only way to do so is if the majority of NO is Black? Is it really about you all the time? Did any of you think about that? Geez...

for one i think its because white people are the majority in america and i really don't think black people are trying to be cruel or anything because most black people aren't racist. and i hear more black comedians make jokes about blacks than whites. Also, when a white person says something racist about a black person its taken more seriously because slavery wasn't that long ago, and if you didn't know its still painful for african americans because their great-great grandparents were raped, beaten, and forced to do other ridiculous things that should never have happend

NO is the chocolate city, as is DC. How is that racist?
Comedians make fun of everybody. It's their job.
If a white person said those things about black people it would go unpunished as well, let's be real here!

Oh i agree, double standard and it's what they like to call Reverse Racism.
Whites (i know i'm this way) turn the other cheek to immaturity!
I've been called cracker, and i laugh my head off, since when did i whip your azz!
I get called ***** and i say yeah, with a capital B!
I mean, i learned when i was a kid, sticks and stones!
Whites tend to let things roll of their backs alot easier than others of different origins and color. Doesn't go for all, but mostly.

I agree with you. There never is the big uproar about those things like there is when it is the other way around. I guess it's because whites are the majority in this country, so it's seen as more acceptable, kind of like fighting against the system or something.

my question is do whites get offended by comments like this? and in my view whites saying comments like this are more dangerous,,it's almost as if whites have this kill all,,kill everything gene in their DNA,,if a white person's racist comments were to be accepted or tolerated,,,,whites would run amock with it,,whites are the majority in this country and hold more government positions,,can u imagine if racism were accepted and tolerated,,what kind of laws whites would pass,,,,gimme thumbs down if u guys want to,,but,,it's true,,whites tend to want to get together in sworms,,just look at history,,however,,i'm not saying these comments are right,,i think everyone should follow the same hush, hush rules when it comes to saying racist comments,,especially if they hold an important position in society,,

Because whitey has to apologize for things that happened in the past that we had NOTHING to do with. Blacks refuse to apologize for things that are happening now that they are SOLEY responsible for.

Why do films feature black actors calling white people whitey or honky and not the other way round? There's a million examples of it and it's all called racism. However, considering the amount of cr@p that caucasians have perpetrated against black people, you could cut some slack...

It's a double standard that needs to stop. We're ALL equal and we all need to speak responsibly and be held accountable. Good luck. 2D
