Many people take a reaction to the injection i myself was fine with it but my sister had muscle ache tierdness and stress, she also bled continueous as it realxed all the wrong muscles down there. You must see a doctor as soon as possible this is very serious if left un treated and it will only get worse, it took my sister 4 months before she got better.
Heres a few facts i gathered for u...Depo-provera is a very effective form of contraception, and suits many women.
However, like all medication, it can have some side effects. Both weight gain and disturbance of periods are very common with Depo contraception.
Some women also complain of tiredness, depression, bloatedness, breast tenderness, headaches and loss of libido.
One other possible disadvantage of this method is that after stopping the injections, it can take 9-12 months for a woman's cycle to return to normal (in most women the process is quicker than this).
There are few women who should not use Depo-provera as contraception.
Women with a past history of arterial disease (such as ischaemic heart disease) or who are at high risk of this, should not be given this medicine.
Women who have had serious side effects on the combined Pill, which are not clearly due to oestrogen, should not receive Depo-provera, nor should anyone with irregular bleeding of unknown cause, or anyone who might be pregnant.
Lastly, there is a rare condition called hydatidiform mole, which occurs in pregnancy, and women who have recently suffered with this condition should not be given Depo-provera

Since you have jst started birth control, it is very likely that this is the cause. Have you read the warnings and side effects for the medication you were given? Birth Control defiantley changes your hormones and there are plenty of side effects that come along with taking them. If it is really bothersome and continues, I would call your doctor or a nurses line (offered by most health insurance companies).
I just quit using the Ortho Evra patch because it was giving me terrible migrains that would last as long as 3 days each month! Plus it sends my hormones racing.
But since you aren't able to sleep, Call your Doctor immediately. You may need to switch to something different when the time comes.

yes you´re not pregnant, any type of hormonal charge you give to your body can cause pregnancy symptoms. Like the ones you describe; I think this is your first time with the shot; so as every contraceptive you have to give it at least 3 months; for your body to get used to the new hormonal charge. At the end of those 3 months you must have almost no side effects; and if you do that contraceptive is not for you. So you would have to go to your doctor again and be prescribed with another type of hormones like pills for example.
Good luck! ;D

I've always taken the pill because I knew if bad effects came along I could stop the meds pronto. But with injections, the hormones are in your system, and there's no way to remove them. And they are creating these terrible side effects, and you're stuck.
I'd call my dr. so that she knows to warn other patients about the side effects; I'd also ask if there's anything she can do to help me; lastly, I'd never let them give that injection to me again. Ever.

Isn't this strange. I had this same problem with a muscle relaxant several weeks ago. I would wake up and the pain was awful. Breasts only. But I have gotten over it and can still use them sometimes.
I sounds like without a question that it is the injection.
Talk to your doctor about this. You need to change meds.
You can take a Nighttime PM to sleep pain free.

The only thing that will most likely stop the pain and allow you to get some sleep is some Pamprin or Midol. Pamprin has a 12 hour pill that works wonders. They both help with breast tenderness and backaches.
You may be about to start your period so don't worry.
If the pain persists, please go see your doctor!

It might just be growing problems, I have been through it and it is probably just a coincidence that it was after the injection. Although you should still get it checked out if its hurting badly

Obviously, I'll have to feel them in order to give advice that's worth anything at all.
Seriously...
People giving medical advice on the internet crack me up!!! Has a doctor ever made a diagnosis without a proper examination and any appropriate tests???

I have heard that taking such contraceptive drugs cause breast cancer and other side effects. I HAVE NO INTENTION TO SCARE YOU. Firstly, go to a doc. Secondly, send a sample of that drug (from the place you got it) to an analyst.
Thirdly, you may be growing old!
