Okay tonight Im going to visit my family in RI, and I just got my nose ring. Its not a nose STUD, a nose ring.
So Im just wondering, would they take it away from me if I went through those dectectors?
Do they jewelery on the plane? Or am I gonna have to take all my jewelery off and put it in my suitcase?

I've never had a problem with my nose ring or ear piercings (regular and tragus). The only jewelry I do take off and leave in my purse when going through the detectors are my bracelets and watch. Then I just put them on after the bag goes through the x-ray machine. I leave my rings on.

yea but u have to take it off when u go through all that metal there gonna have to make u take it off in like a box and stuff u can have on jewerly on the plane they will give u all ur stuff back wen u step out of the dector

Yes.
You might have to take it out to go through security but you will have no problem with it. Nothing different than a finger ring or ear ring..

If it does just show it to them and explain.
I think it will be obvious why it's going off anyway,
nose rings are easily seen.

there's a running joke at the airport security, women always beep!!! Studs tend not go off, not so sure about nose rings. you probably wont have to take it out on the flight or during security, but they will scan you to see if your are carrying something else.

When I fly, I take off all of my jewelry and place it in their plastic trays, along with my purse.
I don't think you would like to take the nose ring off in front of the other passangers, sooo... take a little plastic bag, take it off at home or in the car, place it inside the plastic bag and. . .
place it in their plastic trays, along with your purse, back-pack, whatever you are carrying.

I dont think a nose ring poses a serious threat to our national security. You can keep it on.
