I first noticed that when my son cries, his belly bitton stuck out, and would go to an 'innie' when he stoped soon after he was born. I brought this up to his Dr and she dismissed it as anything. Well it is still doing it and he is 7 mo old. Should I seek another opinion.

It's a hernia.. My 1st baby had that ..It's just the muscles in his belly are not formed together yet..which usually corrects itself by no later than 2 yrs old. My 1st baby had a huge protruding belly button. But it did eventually fix itself. Sometimes it does need to be corrected with surgery. but most likely it will go away. Just keep the Dr. posted and let him know if it gets worse or if he doesn't do anything about it within the next yr. I would definitely get another opinion! Good Luck. but don't worry too much it will probably correct itself.

my son's belly button did that too, and I was told by his doc that is wa a small hernia and it will get smaller then eventually disappear when he gets older. Well he is soon to be 8 months old, and it has completely disappear.

i think it can be pretty normal, but you still should get a second opinion to make sure its not a hernia that needs repairing- in most cases something this small fixes itself.

My son is also 7months old and his does that too. I've never thought it was any reason for concern. It might just be because of the way they breathe when they cry.

It is nothing. When he's crying, his abs tighten up, and his belly button sticks out.
