Even though he's retired I'm surprised we haven't seen Carter in a photo-op yet in front of a gas pump railing against Bush. After all if anyone knows what an economy in shambles looks like it's Jimmy Carter.

Yep, I expect this photo op, just as soon as 'some politicians' can round up : 1. A snaggle tooth gal, with 8 or 10 children, between the ages of 1 and 8 years old, stringy hair, about 483 pounds, crying because gas is so high, she has to walk all the 1/2 block to the mail box, to get her A. Free cheese, B. the kids WIC card, C. the unemployment check, D. the states car payment allotment, E. AND with the price of gas so high, she can't go to Wally World to buy the kids more toys from foreign manufacturers, F. She just can't afford to drive her new car. 2. Then some older person(i am 69+) sitting on a porch, rocking with about 28 dogs and cats around, crying because they can't drive their NEW Lincoln Navigator to 1. Visit the grand kids 1/2 mile away, 2. Or go see the great grand son who is going to be shipped off to fight that terrible Bush's war, 3. having to eat dog food because they can't afford the rib-eyes anymore ( YOU WATCH, This IS going to come about, BUT ' THAT DOG FOOD' is actually ROUND STEAK, only the news manglement nitwits will not let this be known, but will HOWL LIKE A CUR DOG ABOUT THE "DOG FOOD"), and the conditions are just horribly hard, today, compare to about 10 years ago !!!!!!!!!!!

Possibly and the call for redirecting profits from companies..or maybe regulation..which definitely didn't work in the 70s.
Either way not much will be done about it..so the people will either pay more for services or the employees will not see significant pay raises..if at all.

If $3.00/gallon is too expensive, you really need to reign in your budget. The price of gas is still cheaper then the rest of the world. Instead of complaining, adjust your budget to compensate for the increase.

The eventual response to outlandish gas prices will be an increase in violent crime, which will be more reason to increase the police state. Its all in the plan. Don't say you weren't warned.

You're probably right but of course it won't do much good. Or will it?

OF COURSE THEY WILL. I CAN JUST SEE CHARLES SCHUMER RAILING AGAINST HIGH PRICES. IT'S EASIER THAN ALLOWING DRILLING IN ANWAR OR OFF SHORE. THERE IS PROBABLY ENOUGH OIL TO TELL OPEC TO GO F"CK THEMSELVES.

There is ALWAYS one characteristic you can detect in every person who attempts to rationalize waterboarding; cowardice.
