I got in a wreck and my car is sitting at the collision place and the lady is no help.

Or whats a better option?

Its a 00 Mustang and they said itd take $5400 to fix it..and thats exactly what I paid for it. It was just the bumper lights and hood and radiator case. The insides were just fine.

I live in an apartment. So bringing it back here and selling it, is kind of hard but if its a huge difference I might figure out a way to do that.

totalled to the insurance company is when it costs more to fix than the car is actually worth. But, it is "just a bumper and hood and radiator. Possibly very fixable for a backyarder.(who is not figuring $100 bucks an hour for the work time involved).
Got friends who live in houses with yards? Perhaps you could get it towed there and sell/or fix it there.

Your insurance company will buy it from you for whatever they determine the value to be. From there, you can buy it back from the insurance company with a salvage title. If you don't buy it, it belongs to them.

If it can be driven, you can probably fix it yourself for cheaper (try finding parts at a junk yard) or sell it to someone willing to put in the work.

Call a salveage company. You won't get a whole lotta money, tho. Try and get it fixed is your best bet.
