I seem to suck at calculus with trigonometric identities. Any suggestions?

I'm not a total idiot. I know WHAT they are, I just can't always manipulate them to get what I'm supposed to.

Why not learn the basic ones? Those are the ones
usually used:
tan x = sin x/ cos x
sin² x + cos² x = 1
1 + tan² x = sec² x,
sin 2x = 2 sin x cos x
cos 2x = cos² x - sin² x.
These are the ones you run into most often.
