Most poeple are RH+ so you have nothing to worry about.

You see so many things about RH- because this is the factor that causes the problems. When an RH- mother has a child with an RH+ hubby, the mother makes antibodies for the RH+ factor since the baby would likely be an RH+ while the mother is RH-... Hope that made sense. So the first baby would be fine, however if the couple wants to conceive again, the mother would already have the antibodies for the next RH+ baby and the fetus might be killed by the mothers antibodies... They give you treatment and stuff when they find out you are a - though and everything wuld work out.

Since you're an RH+, you have nothing to worry about =) Congratulations!

No, you only have to worry if you're RH negative, and your significant other is positive, which means your baby has the chance of being positive, and your body will treat it as a foreign object, in which case IF the baby's blood somehow gets into your system, your body will start to form antibodies, which is usually not a problem during the 1st pregnancy, but will cause problems in the 2nd, etc.

But like I said, if you are RH positive you have nothing to worry about :)

Usually it only matter if you are rH negative. But dont worry, they can ive you the shot whenever, however it is typically around 28 weeks. If you were neg, and your husband was positive, you would NEED the shot because you would build antibodies against his blood. And if your secondchild got your husbands positive blood, you would naturally abort the baby because you build antibodies against it. Do not worry, I do not think you even have to get the shot if you are positive, but they may... Goodluck and hope all goes well... I am getting the shot in a week!

My mother had both of these issues also. 2 of her 3 children were affected by it. Don't worry yourself so much, you'll stress the baby. I know what it's like to worry when you're pregnant. My mother's first and last child had to be given blood transfusions at birth. That was almost 50 years ago and they turned out fine. I'm sure the technology has vastly improved. Neither of her children had any problems at all after before or after the transfusion and they are alive and well today. I hope this helps give you some peace. If you get too worried, call a pregnancy hotline or even your nurse. Either would be willing to assist you with whatever information may be available. I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your bundle of joy....

As with the other posters, I've never heard about any problems with being RH+. I'm RH-, and that CAN be a problem (my hubby is RH+). But really, it just means a few shots for me, it's not that dangerous anymore.

I am RH negative.I also have had the rhogam shot twice already due to heavy bleeding earlier in my pregnancy.I had when i was pregnant with my 4 year old as well.and i have to have the shot again around 28 weeks. The purpose of the shot is so my blood doesn't attack the baby's blood providing we don't have the same blood type. But that is something i won't know until the baby is born. You have nothing to worry about

If this is your first child, and his Rh factor is negative, you won't have a problem. If it is in your second, then the doctor will give you medicines (a course of shots) so that your body will not reject the blood of the baby. Good luck!
