I know the feeling. My fiance and I have been trying for 4 months now. I have like 10 more days to wait. And let me tell you. You think the wait is killing you this time. If you don't get pregnant the first time around, every month the waiting gets harder. I am driving myself CRAZY!!! reading books and articles galore. Thats all you can do. Good luck.

I know how you feel, I stopped taking the pill on 4th Sept and waited, then I came on on the 26th Sept for 2 days thought it was only a short period due to only just coming off the pill. However did a test 10 days ago & there was a line so I took a test the next day in the morning and the line was there again. I had my first doctors appointment yesterday & I am 6 weeks pregnant & due 4th July 08. Just got to wait to see the midwife now. Please try not to worry as that doesnt help, make sure you are taking folic acid tablets as these help your baby grow. Good luck, let us know how things go xx

I know that the wait can be a killer and i looked up an article that i read once to send to you in hopes that it will help.......

It's an exciting time! You might be pregnant -- your timing was right and you're ready for this -- all you need to do is wait for that positive pregnancy test. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, if you really think you might be pregnant, you know that this time is anything but easy. Read on for some tips on getting through these days in waiting.

When you're hoping for a positive pregnancy test result, the wait can seem interminable, and the wondering can be stressful. Here are eight things you can do to make the wait until you can test as bearable as possible.

1) Minimize your wait
Traditionally, you needed to wait at least until your period was due before you could test -- that was about 28 days after the first day of your last period (although cycle length varies). Fortunately, you don't need to wait that long any more. Several pregnancy tests on the market offer high-sensitivity, allowing you to get a result sooner.

2) Get ready
So, are you prepared for a positive pregnancy test result? Here's a quick to-do checklist of things you can do in the meantime:

Review your health insurance to find out what kind of prenatal care they cover.
Choose a caregiver for your pregnancy.
Schedule a pre-conception checkup if you haven't already.
Ask your caregiver about starting prenatal vitamins.
Buy a pregnancy test kit -- you might want to get more than one so you can confirm the results.
Take care of what you can now so you can stay ahead of the game.

3) Start healthy habits
Don't wait until that pregnancy test comes back positive before you start to get all the nutrition a pregnant woman needs! "You and your baby both will benefit if you're in the best health - nutritional and otherwise - as possible at the time of conception," says nutritionist Martha Belury, PhD, RD. "To that end, health practitioners often recommend all women begin taking prenatal supplements and eliminating alcoholic beverage consumption and tobacco products usage before pregnancy."

Kelly Shanahan, MD, a board-certified obstetrician gynecologist, agrees. She says that even before conception is confirmed, women can begin to curb any harmful habits, like smoking and drinking. You can also start implementing a healthier diet containing essential vitamins and nutrients, such as folic acid and calcium. And don't forget the fluids: You should also be sure to drink plenty of water.

I hpe that i was able to help.....Good Luck while taking the test.....

I know how you feel. I'm waiting right now too. My bf and I have been TTc for the past 2 months. Waiting is the worst part!! My period isn't due until next Tuesday so I have a longer wait than you. All I can say is just try and relax. Easier said than done I know. Try to keep yourself busy so you won't have to think about it. Good Luck!! Keep me updated! Sending baby dust your way!!

I know what you mean!! i have just a couple days of waiting left and it is the worst. i am sooo worried i am going to start my period. we have only been trying for a 1 1/2 months, my first 2 we didn't even really try-they were sooo easy. i was expecting to already be preg by now. the only thing i can suggest to pass the time is keep yourself busy-with anything! I have been watching a lot of baby shows--A baby story-TLC, special delivery-science channel. and reading a lot.
Good luck to you! Baby dust to all who are TTC!

There there sweetheart. Just find something, anything to pass the time. I know how you feel though. We've recently decided we want another child, but won't be financially ready to start trying for about a year...and just knowing we're going to go for it is making time stand still. Just realize that it's going to happen when it is meant to happen and leave it at that. Good Luck to you.

P.S. Don't be too disappointed if your test on saturday is negative...sometimes it takes a few weeks even to get a positive result.

I too highly recommend the book Taking charge of your firtility, excellent book it makes you understand your body and whats happening, you will know exactly when you ovulate and when to have intercourse, so you dont have to have sex every night, just one night the day you are most fertile and the book will help you know when. I borrowed my copy from the library and I just keep checking it out. But yes the wait drives all women crazy when waiting for the time to test or if your period will come. Good luck!!

it took me 17 years (NO KIDDING!) to get pregnant, so in the cosmic sense, a few days is nothing to have to wait. Good luck. I don't know how old you are but I am sure you have bags of time. And if you don't get pregnant this month or in the next year even then don't worry about it. Just get on with your life and if it's meant to be, then it's meant to be!

I am 38 and expecting my first in February after no contraception since August 1990.

Don't rush it and don't think about it. If everyone is healthy nature will takes it course. I have lost 11 children to miscarriage and 1 to stillborn and have a beautiful 7 year old daughter.

My daughter was conceived on a night that we weren't even trying a good bottle of wine, and she was here 9 long months later.

stay postive. fertile vibes and baby dust your way.

PS If you think it is long waiting to get pregnant, try the 9 months you wait until your child gets here, now that is long.. especially the last month.

Just gotta wait!
Try not to analyse every single thing you feel.
I have to admit I felt wierd 4 days before my period was due and went and bought one of those early testing test where you can test 4 days before your period is due. It came up positive so I new really early.
It is a nightmare with the waiting though. Good luck with your patience!!! Baby dust your way :)
