Building site transformers would be too heavy duty for a set of lights.
We work on US domestic products here and have small transformers with a UK plug on one end and a US socket on it. Unless the lights are a permanent installation I would do that.

You would be better using a portable power tool transformer, you will need to match the output to the the load you are using. What exactly do you want to use it for?? A shaver socket has a max output of about 20va.

Yes, it has an inbuilt stepdown transformer, typically it will be a different socket type to prevent other rated appliances being plugged in. An external adapter might be a better bet, this will provide mobililty as well.

You need to do a little research. You could start a fire.
You need to check your code. I would not want a transformer that big with continuous power. So It can be done. Why do it?Those Christmas lights must be really special.
“But if you plug in a US product in Spain, you might blow it up!”

Yes you can.
Maplin Electronics who have shops all over the UK sell a transformer for doing just what you want to do.
I don't think its very expensive.

You need a step down transformer:Input 220 volts > Output 110volts.
You also need to use a dedicated plug top to prevent accident.
(a)220 volts use 3 pins neutral type
(b) 110volts use 2 pins type with earth
You also need to know the power requirement in amphere.

They drill their way in the process the mortar to make nests for his or her offspring. inspite of the reality that they do no longer stay in colonies, as quickly as one has got here upon a house then he will enable others understand approximately it. it extremely is a extreme difficulty Lefty, and one that may not pass away via itself. you may desire to locate a pest administration professional who's commonplace with a thank you to handle this difficulty as there are the kind to handle it..
