I'm 26, a full time college student and a part time pre-k teacher. I need to make some extra money so I can get decent presents for my brothers and my longtime love/new husband. Also traveling to see family during the holidays gets expensive. Any ideas of seasonal jobs or other odd jobs?

I love selling stuff on Ebay or craigslist.
That is how I make my money for Christmas and presents during the year. Depending on what you are selling you can have a tidy sum by the end of the year.
I prefer Craigslist because you don't have to pay postage and you deal with local buyers. Ebay does give you a wider buyer market but I don't like all the fees attached, from putting in the ad to the final value fee; plus if Paypal gets the money you lose a percentage of it there too.
With craigslist its really pure profit.

Get a part-time seasonal job. Almost every single retail store, unless they just dont get any business, should be hiring for temp./ holiday seasonal employees. You will have to search around. Since you are so busy during the week, you can work like 6-close and weekends. That's about $200-$300 every 2 weeks. Also, the salvation army is hiring for those people who stand outside the stores and ring the bells. You could even sell Avon products.

The retail industry often hires seasonal employees, as does the food service industry. You can make some nice cash fast by waitressing or bartending (in a nice place, not a greasy spoon). Check out places like Applebees, etc, which are nice, and also have a high volume of customers.

Get a commission sales job at a local mall. However, retailers are scared this year, so jobs may be harder to find. So, start looking now.

Otherwise sell stuff on ebay. If you have not used it for a year, or worn it in a year, it is a candidate for selling.
