"I don't agree that Hezbollah itself is a terrorist organization. It delivers powdered milk; it takes care of people. It's a social organization; it's a political organization. It fights corruption."

-Robert Baer, 20 year CIA veteran, whose been referred to as, "perhaps the best on-the-ground field officer in the Middle East” by Seymour Hersh whose CIA career was the basis for the motion picture "Syriana".

No, Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization but yes, factions have performed terrorist activities. Sounds kind of like splitting hairs, I know. To me it would be like calling Michigan a terrorist state because some members of the Michigan Militia were involved in the Oklahoma City Bombing.

Hezbollah has done some awful things to a lot of innocent people, as has Israel. Neither side is right but, in essence, neither is wrong either. I've never been a fan of the "by any means necessary" motto of Hezbollah and I think it's simply disgusting the way they handle their conflict. Then again, who am I to judge? I mean, the horrors they've been made to suffer and the way they were basically deemed insignificant when it came time to give the Jewish people the land that is Israel. It would be difficult for anybody not to react in a very similar way.

Six countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, officially list Hezbollah or its external security arm as a terrorist organization, though its designation as such is not unanimous among world powers (perhaps most notably, the European Union). Most in the Arab and Muslim worlds regard Hezbollah as a legitimate resistance movement. {1}

Another commentator stated, one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. I don't agree with that for a few reasons:
1. That still leaves them as terrorists.
2. Freedom fighters don't slaughter innocents, only terrorists do. (The argument that "no one is innocent" is pure rubbish)

Yes, Hezbollah does do some good. Hezbollah organizes extensive social development programs, running hospitals, news services, and educational facilities. Social services have a central role in the party's programs. {1} However, their good deeds are far outweighed by their bad ones (as are Israel's and even the United State's).

**EDIT**
"How can the propagandists on the news, disagree with a veteran CIA agent, who spent his career in the middle east?"

The same way they disagree constantly about the status in Iraq. Also, how can anybody take one man's opinion and base their beliefs on just that? We'll exclude Jesus and The Prophet Muhammad from that "one man's opinion" thing. Yes, media IS all about propaganda (nothing new, it's been going on since at least the 1920's, probably longer) but one man with that comment could just as easily be a disgruntled employee.

Do not forget, either, that he was a CIA agent in the Middle East for 20 years - I would think he would have learned how to stretch the truth just a little bit. Not saying he's an outright liar, just that it's his opinion. Any way you slice it, feeding 20 hungry kids does not make up for murdering 20 people on a bus.

A 17 November. I hate the reality that it embroiled the Lebanese people in a combat they do no longer choose. A majority of Lebanese (Druze, Sunnis and Maronites) choose Hezbollah disarmed. Why could Hezbollah impose its schedule on Lebanon? additionally, there is not any longer something to stand as much as. Israel left Lebanon, and the Shebaa farms are no longer area of Lebanon except Syria attracts the border between it and Lebanon. something that Syria consistently refuses to do.

Al-Qaeda also provided social services in some areas of Afghanistan. I dont think anyone would not call Al-Qaeda a terrorist organization.

What people dont understand is that such an origination like Hezbollah is multifaceted. Just like Hammas which is a political party and in controll of Gaza dose not detract from their mission statement and their actions.

Hezbollahs actions and statements are enough proof that it is a terrorist orginization.

Image created by the GOP. Next thing you know "The Daughters of the Revolution" are going to be considered terrorists. Or maybe the Boy Scouts. The Republicans will do anything to spread fear. Fortunately, Americans are beginning to catch on.

Don't think so.
But do have communication problems.
Just "The young one" kicking the butts of the "Dirty old men"
With 'Children are to be seen and not to be heard" which does not change with time but stay in time for the good of mankind in the creation of peace on earth goowill to men.
If they did'nt kick the butts of the late Yasser Arafat.
Never knew of the dirty little secrets hidden in the grave for centuries.
Luke 10.24
After kicking the butts of the late Yasser Arafat.
The old man left behind a six billion us dollars question on "What is an X-files" to knock their heads tigether for making a mess out there.
Which they could not get away with two empty hands without the "Spoils of the war" from after world war two.
Luke 9.60
Ever wonder how tales of two cities under two flags will become one for their own good to live together among their own brothers and sisters out there.
Ever wonder how Judas betrayed them all with cheap-skate ghostly stories which the late Yasser Arafat would not allow that to happen to all his children out there without being aware of the mess out there.
Luke 22.3-6
What do you think?

Depends on the definition of "Terrorist Organisation" that you use. If fighting for your rights is an act of terror, yes they are! If helping your people in realising a dream is an act of terror, then it is a terrorist organisation....i think the terorist image of this organisation is the image created by the media that jews control!

If you are a bunch of old white guys in Washington DC that are trying to find a way to maintain your control of the world stage, then hell yes they are terrorist. However, if you are a mother with two children who is the recipient of their largess, then, hell no they aren't terrorists.

No they are not terrorists, they are simply trying to get back the land that was stolen from them. I wish them all the luck in the world and hope they succeed.
