hey gloria-yes i agree one person cant represent the views of all.
some auzzies do feel americans are a bit arrogant, but i think thats mostly because we just get sick of only getting american tv and music over here and not having our own identity. i personally have no prob with americans unless they have a prob with me, and again thats not the whole country, thats an individual then.
thanks for you opinions guys.

I have to say that sometimes I am jealous of Australians; for the most part I like them. I am sure there are people that are not the best representatives of your country just like there are many bad representatives of mine (USA) but that does not mean all Australians are bad just as all Americans are not.

Any Aussies I've ever met have been good sh!ts. Very similar raunchy sense of humor as us, and can always get along with just about anyone. Lifestyles between our 2 countries seem to be pretty similar, but I can't say that for sure cause I haven't been to Australia.
Generally, I haven't met an Aussie that I didn't like. WAY MORE easy going than your friends in the U.K., and seem to be overall more friendly.

We like Australians
My son spent a year in Brisbane and while there he traveled most of the country and he said everywhere he wnet people were very nice, interested in talking, friendly, a lot like people here in Montana are.
He is going back next summer to Sydney for World Youth Day.
His brother went over and visited him and had the same experience, in fact whenever people found out he was a carpenter (chippy") he was offered work almost everywhere.
I would like to visit someday but airfare is a bit spendy.

Sorry I'm not American, am South-east Asian and I think Australians are the most warm, friendly and easy going Westerners compared to other western countries.

From what I've read, it sounds like you have a beautiful country. Surrounded by water. Large cities. And the outback!
I'm not too keen on the number of poisonous snakes you have, but....... that's life!

I wanted to go to Austrailia for my honeymoon, but we couldn't afford it. I don't know much about your lifestyle, but I think you guys are very laid back just like my husband and I, so I thought we'd fit right in.
