I fully charge my laptop every night and I don't usually use it during the day. But when I use it again at night time the battery says there's only 10% of power left.

And what's the best way to maintain the battery?

The first thing I would check would be whether you're using a sleep mode because if you are that might explain it (and if you are using it on battery then you'll be running the battery down).

If you're turning the computer completely off and not using at all on battery during the day then I'd say there would be a problem (and Li-Ion batteries are best treated by not constantly discharging them which is pretty much what you're doing, despite what some people may erroneously think).

The best way to maintain a Li-Ion battery is not to bother with it, just use the battery when you need to and don't worry about it, constant discharges damage the battery (they can only survive several hundred cycles) and should only need to calibrate the battery every few months.

Over time a Li-Ion battery will age and lose the capacity to run your computer which you will notice as the battery run time getting shorter, there's nothing you can do to improve the battery (and it'll happen when the battery is sitting on the shelf in the store doing nothing). If you are going to be not using the computer for a few months dropping the charge of the battery down to 40% and sticking it in the fridge will delay the processor somewhat though).

Are you turning your laptop OFF or just putting it into hibernation or sleep mode. Both of those actually use battery power to retain settings or information on where you were last.

Finish your work, close all windows or stop all programs and 'TURN OFF' the laptop. I've done this for days and came back and turned it on and had 98% power in the battery left.

I don't need to have it sitting at the last spot I was.

approximately 5 years in the past it replaced into 2 hours. in the present day it is approximately 4 hours. you may assume it to be 8 hours in yet another 5 years into the destiny. Battery life is getting greater ideal and greater ideal. you may no longer exchange it, it is set by way of the marketplace - yet once you purchase a sparkling computer it tremendously much continuously has the applicable battery already put in. (companies comprehend in the event that they have undesirable battery - that's low-fee - shoppers would in no way come decrease back)
