There are so many great 1 loss teams, and teams that are getting no credit for a perfect season. Why do Oregon fans think they deserve to be ranked when they beat inflated pac-10 teams, and where unranked to start?

How many players went in the first round from LSU, and how many went from Oregon? That should tell you something about the difference between the two programs.

Dude, any team from the SEC is better. I have been saying for years that the SEC schedule should be more diverse and they should play more teams from other conferences. Oregon, please! Ohio State, please! Texas, please!

The SEC have 7 teams in the top 25 and on any given day, any of them can beat any top rank team. Football in the South grow better, faster and tougher players.

Oh, I played D-I football in the SEC, and the competition is very stiff.

LSU will get another title.

My boy is an Oregon fan. He thinks they will go to the National Championship. I think they will lose one more game. He is cracking on the SEC. I told him if they were in the same conference they would lose at least 3 games every year. They wouldn't be able to hang because they have no defense and all offense. If you can't shut down the other team from scoring then you are not going to win.

I'm an FSU fan, so I believe that we can even beat the Ducks. So what they have a good team this year, but they aren't consistent every year. Until they can produce 45 players in the NFL and be in the top 5 for 12 years straight then he can talk.

Not an Oregon fan and not an LSU fan- As a fan of college football in general, Oregon clearly is playing the better football of the two right now. LSU is an excellent team but if they dont pull it together on defense, they are going to get stung again. Oregon is simply dominating in the last few weeks. Personally I might put Oregon and LSU in the top two right now because I think either would beat OSU at this point.

I say there is doubt. Opponents of LSU have scored 30 or more about every game. About every team in the SEC is good but none are great. That is why we are seeing parity in the SEC. One thing to point out is that many of these SEC teams lost in nonconference games or squeaked out games against mid level competition. Oregon is a good team that keeps winning. Every week they look stronger. I personally do not like the Pac 10, however , their conference has won many nonconference games.
Now to be fair both teams as well as KU should be ranked ahead of Ohio State. They STILL have not played a legitimate top 25 team.
I will also mention Michigan does not deserve to be ranked in the top 25. They played 1 tough game (Oregon ) and lost by 38 AT HOME. Beating Big 10 conference opponents is as impressive as making all C's at school

A close, early season, in-conference road loss can be excused, but losing at home to Cal should not. I have Oregon ranked below Mizzou and West Virginia.

I think so, they are 8-1 with wins from Houston, Michigan, USC, and Arizona State, and their one loss from cal by one TD! They are definitely a good team, probably not as good as LSU, but still good!

i swear, myopic fans irritate me. blind loyalty to a team is all fine and good, but at some point you get older than 14. there IS doubt that LS-who is better than Oregon. LS-who from the first few games this season should have rolled the tide by 35, mildcats by 28 (a loss btw), and florida should have gone home at half time due to a mercy rule. ls-who versus oregon would be a better game than osu- ls-who.

ROFL @ Carl N. - hanging your hat on wins over the last place team in another conference as "proof" the elite of the Big XII is 'the best'?

Oregon should be in the top 3. They seem to have a much more solid team all around, where as LSU can leave you wondering "Are they gonna do it?". Pac 10 may not have the best teams, but that dosen't make it insignificant. As I have said before, it is better to beat an "inferior" team than to lose to one. Orgeon has a lot of promise, and if they played LSU in the National Championship it would be a good game. LSU being better than Oregon is your opinon. And if we are going to judge from the past, and from the schedule as people seem to have a hard on for doing, the only team to beat LSU only played one ranked team, although they did beat them.

Please, enough with the "any SEC team" b.s. Take a peak at Florida and Bama's schedule. Take close look at the games in Oxford this year. Now, once thats done. Take a look at the poor little sorry team from the big 12 that came in to Oxford and did what neither of them could do. Win a game without a doubt. And I wont point it out, cause any self respected SEC fan knows that the lil sorry big 12 team is 3-0 vs. SEC in the last few years. Now, hold on..this wont hurt a bit..But there is no way in sam hell that LSU's D couple have a answer for all the weapons on that lil sorry big 12 team. Oh maybe Dorsey. That is if he could get his hands on the QB. I will also point out. Dixon and Tebow only get mentioned for Heisman because they HAVE to run. I guess if Daniel had to run every game he would have same or better rushing stats. Now, its easy to point at schedules ,lame confernces ect..ect..ect.. But check the facts sometimes please. Missouri would give LSU,Oregon,OSU all the game they want. I know LSU's schedule includes 6 teams that have been or that are ranked this year. And Missouri's cupcake schedule only has 7.
But please dont be biased because of that.

Ahem.

Obviously... "Someone" does doubt that LSU is better than Oregon...

I'm a University of Oklahoma fan, and I could make the same complaint. I don't because I know two things.

These things usually work out pretty well.

and

If Not, it matters very little one way or the other...
