Not sure what this is doing in the LGBT category...

I'm assuming you mean American Indian as opposed to East Indian? Best thing would be to ask your parents or other family members, or do "family tree" research. By the way, if you're at least 1/16th American Indian, you can register to get money (every month, I think) from the U.S. government. (It's their way of saying, "We're sorry that we very nearly wiped out all of your ancestors a couple hundred years ago, then forced the rest of you onto little plots of land that to this day are so sparse, no one could ever possibly want them for anything. So, here ya go - this money should make that all better for ya!")

My husband is 4/4 Navajo according to his CIB.
My daughter is 2/4 Navajo according to her CIB.

If you don't have a CIB, and cannot get one, you are not "indian or half" or anything else, just call yourself white, or whatever.

I know I am not because my great grandmother came to america from Naples, Italy and my other great grandmother came from Gratz, Austria and their children got married to men whose parents were from Italy and Germany. None of my ancestors were from here: All European. If you want to find out you'll have to hire a geneology expert.
